"We hired Century Masonry & Waterproofing several years ago after suffering through several flooded basements. At a time when some contractors are out there trying to sell unnecessary services and products, Sean is an honest, consultative, helpful professional. He was able to identify problems with our existing sump pit and corrected them. He also identified the fact that the sump pit was not in the lowest point of our foundation and installed a second sump pit and pump there. Thankfully, and knock on wood, we haven't had an issue in years. Thank you Sean and Century Masonry & Waterproofing!"

"We hired Uprise to replace and install a stone walkway and a backyard stone patio. From start to finish, our experience was phenomenal. Eric clearly explained the project plan and options. His ideas on design were extremely helpful and the masonry work is beautiful. We highly recommend Uprise construction."

"We contracted with Grand NJ Construction to replace our roof and repair our gutter. The process could not have been smoother. From the estimate to the scheduling to the project execution everything went exactly as planned. Grand NJ Construction did a great job of communicating with us throughout the project. The site leader, Tony and his crew did a great job. We would definitely use Grand NJ Construction again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of roofing."

"We used A1 Loyalty Construction to fix our siding on one side of our house. Cesar and his team were amazing! Explained every step, worked with us while we replaced windows on that side also and were very professional and attentive. They did a great job taking down our siding and putting everything back up, even power washed that side! Definitely calling them up again once we are ready to do other work along with masonry work. Masonry questions, answered by experts

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

Brick and stone are durable, low-maintenance materials that offer excellent insulation, aesthetic appeal, and can increase property value.

Some older brick material is extremely hard, making it tough to create a hole. Rather than using a typical wood drill bit, always use a masonry drill bit when drilling into brick. For extremely hard brick, using a power drill with a hammer function may give you better results. The drill bit will heat up as it goes into the extremely hard brick, so you may need to stop after a few minutes and allow the bit to cool before starting to drill again.

Clean regularly, check for cracks, and inspect the chimney annually for safety.
