"Project was delayed multiple times. We were originally promised a start date right around Thanksgiving. That came and went, as they were severely back logged with jobs and needed to push us back. New date set for right before Christmas, no good still backed up. We moved to the week after, no good still. Rescheduled again for New Year's Eve, started to pull the roof and then they realized "wait no dumpster can come on New Year's Eve." The crew packed up and headed out after about an hour, said they would be back after New Year's. They came back and finished up the project in a few days. Although the project still wasn't 100% complete as they ran out of capping materials right at the end. They said they would be back to finish, which turned into about 3 weeks. So the project wasn't 100% finished until near the end of January. We signed a contract right before Hurricane Sandy and we weren't finished up until late January, nearly 3 months later. All the while we had pipe flanges and chimney flashing leaking with every storm.
Each of these delays was usually made to known to us either the day work was supposed to begin or even the day after. Needless to say, the effort to try and accommodate their continually changing schedule proved frustrating and tiresome. It just became ridiculous after a while. The quality of work was fine, but their responsiveness and punctuality left little to be desired. I can't say I would recommend them because of it. I had high hopes as they came out right before the hurricane to try and seal our pipe flanges with very late notice, and I was impressed with that.

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on the surface area and complexity.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.

Because these two systems have different applications, there is no definitive answer to which is better. When working with sturdy materials, sandblasting is cheaper and faster, but more delicate projects require soda blasting. Before choosing either option, consider your specific needs, particularly your ultimate goal (cleaning, removing rust, prepping for painting, etc.), the material, and your budget.

Costs depend on surface material, labor, debris disposal, and the type of blasting media used.

The cost of sandblasting depends on the scope of the project, the surface type, labor, and equipment required. Services typically cost between $50 and $80 per hour, though most professionals charge by surface area at a rate of $1.50 to $7 per square foot. Total project costs can range from $700 to $12,500, with an average homeowner spending around $3,200 to sandblast a 1,000-square-foot surface.
