It went excellent. I have not had any problems since. They have been very courteous at following up. I would recommend them to anyone. The price was reasonable. The quality of their work has held up for three years now.

They put a roof on. I had used them before when they were on Angie's List. The guy who came out was good.

He claimed that he thoroughly inspected the roof. Claimed that the job was done perfectly in November when I first reported the initial leak. After several months of the roof leaking, we now have a mold problem, which will need additional contractor work at my expense. After seeking the opinions of other roofers, they explained to me that there were some construction issues in great detail, which I discussed with Mr. Genovese. He now is not responding to me. The only responses I get are from one of his office workers (which is also a family member) that he is currently working on a big project, and is in the meantime neglecting my repairs. I am surprised that it has gone this route. I would rate him higher, had he taken care of the issues I presented to him.
Response from Genovese Roofing and Siding

"I'm writing today in response to this negative review. In May of 2012 we completed a roof replacement at [member address removed]. On 5/15/13 the owner of the company, Brian Genovese, reported to the residence to look at the customers heater pipe as it was leaking as reported by the homeowner. During the roof replacement the pipe wasn't a part of the scope of work. Nonetheless, Mr. Genovese, sealed the pipe out of courtesy for the customer. On 9/24/13 Mr. Genovese returned to the residence to check out another reported leak. It was determined the source of the problem was a window over the garage. Mr. Genovese decided he would reflash wall on garage just to be on the safe side. There were no stains on the decking from underneath. On 11/15/13 Mr. Genovese returned to the property to complete the repair, however, the customers son informed him that they believed the leak was definitely coming from the window, and that the repair was not necessary. Apparently the customers son ran the hose in the area of the window which confirmed where the source of the leak was coming from. At that point a repair from Mr. Genovese wasn't necessary as the roof replacement didn't cause the leak. On 12/12/13 Mr. Genovese spoke to the customer via telephone to discuss the leak. Mr. Genovese informed, [member name removed], that her son identified the source of the leak being the window which is what he thought all along. [member name remove] said that there must have been a miscommunication with her and her son. At that point, [member name removed], informed, Mr. Genovese, that she hired another contractor to complete the repair. In Genovese Contracting's professional opinion the window was the source of the leak, not the roof. Mr. Genovese made several attempts to figure out exactly what the source of the problem really was. In the end it was determined the window was the issue. We are writing today to inform Angie's List that this situation was addressed on several occasions. Genovese has an excellent reputation with their customers, and we strive to make them happy. Our customers are always welcome to call the office to have any issues/questions addressed at any time. We're a family business, and wish to maintain our integrity for our customers. Hope Martin Genovese Roofing and Siding"

We had Brian replace our entire roof, including ripping two layers. Brian is always very professional and knowledgeable and the quality of his work is excellent. The job was delayed due to weather and schedule run overs in jobs before ours, but Hope provided us with regular status updates so we knew when to expect them. We used Genovese in the past for repairs and were very happy with the roof replacement.

We were very pleased with the work that Genovese Roofing and Siding did. They came out right away and gave us an estimate where other  people we called didn't. It was a little bit more but we know that there were extra work than what they had originally thought of. They were delayed but it was mostly weather related so they got all their jobs backed up.

The roofing job was excellent and only took one day. Things got a little slower installing the windows and siding. Overall, he was a very nice guy and looked into everything I mentioned. He gets back to you promptly as well

I got them from Angie's List. They were very good and very punctual. They did a very good job. He was very available, and he came when he said he was going to come barring the weather conditions. His sister runs the office, and she was just wonderful.

Small amount of storm damage to my roof, siding, and window frames. Understandably the company was swamped with requests and overall they were great about not forgetting to come out as soon as they had time. My damage was small compared to others,so it was no problem to wait while bigger projects were being worked.
I spoke to Hope each time and she was very friendly and responsive to my requests. When they came out for the estimate they discovered some missing shingles off the roof and repaired them. I knew they were good when I asked to check for rotted wood beneath the damage and they came back and said there was no damage. Not all contractors are that honest! The final bill was within $20 of their quote...that also rarely happens with contractors.

Project was delayed multiple times. We were originally promised a start date right around Thanksgiving. That came and went, as they were severely back logged with jobs and needed to push us back. New date set for right before Christmas, no good still backed up. We moved to the week after, no good still. Rescheduled again for New Year's Eve, started to pull the roof and then they realized "wait no dumpster can come on New Year's Eve." The crew packed up and headed out after about an hour, said they would be back after New Year's. They came back and finished up the project in a few days. Although the project still wasn't 100% complete as they ran out of capping materials right at the end. They said they would be back to finish, which turned into about 3 weeks. So the project wasn't 100% finished until near the end of January. We signed a contract right before Hurricane Sandy and we weren't finished up until late January, nearly 3 months later. All the while we had pipe flanges and chimney flashing leaking with every storm.
Each of these delays was usually made to known to us either the day work was supposed to begin or even the day after. Needless to say, the effort to try and accommodate their continually changing schedule proved frustrating and tiresome. It just became ridiculous after a while. The quality of work was fine, but their responsiveness and punctuality left little to be desired. I can't say I would recommend them because of it. I had high hopes as they came out right before the hurricane to try and seal our pipe flanges with very late notice, and I was impressed with that.

They were excellent! They are very clean. They arrived at the time they said they would. They finished the job in less than eight hours. After there was a strong storm, he came out to check that everything was still in place and it was. The office staff and crew are very professional.

Hurricane Sandy blew off roof shingles and side trims on gable. I called on Wednesday and had an appointment for Thursday. The remaining trim that was dangling was removed and an inspection was performed for any additional damage that was not visible from street level. An estimate was generated and sent by e-mail the following week. The job was completed on the appointment date. I was contacted to see if I was satified with the work perfomed because I was not home when it was done. I confirmed satisfaction and paid by mail. I would use Genevese for a roofing job again.

After initial contact they came out to inspect the roof in two days. The gentleman who was here was on time and very professional.
After I showed him the problem he went on roof to inspect for damage. Turns out it wasn't a roof problem but a chimney problem.
Even though I didn't hire them this time they will be the company I will call for any future roof work..

Not only did they correctly diagnosed the location of the leak, they fixed the leak in short order. It saved me hundreds
if not a couple thousand dollars (with other roofer unqualified estimates). This has renewed my faith with
ethical, honest, and quality trade contractors! Thank you GENOVESE!

I had hired Genovese roofing to do a previous roofing project for me on another property and was extremely pleased with their responsiveness and their work.  I didn't hesitate to hire them again for this much more extensive (though still relatively small) job, and did not get estimates from other companies.  Brian showed up at the appointed time for the estimate and even made a second trip out to check out the excess shingle I had from when the roof was originally done.  He tested it out and said that it would be fine for the job, and I was able to save a couple of hundred dollars that way.
The job was originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 26th.  It ended up being rescheduled I believe because another job ended up being more extensive than they originally thought, and then delayed again because of rain.  There were a lot of back and forth emails and calls after that and what it basically came down to was that the job kept getting pushed back.  It seemed like there was some confusion between Hope, the very sweet and helpful scheduler, and the foremen.  I was eventually told that Brian (I believe the owner of the company) was going to be on the job himself, and was given a new date.  This time (October 4th) they did arrive as scheduled, and a crew of about 3 guys started the work.  Well I looked around and couldn't find Brian anywhere.  It seemed that he had dropped off the crew and then left after a fairly short time.  An hour or more later another foreman came to the property, but I only ever saw him sit in his truck while the crew continued to work.  The end result was that only one of the two problem areas was addressed and my additional request to have some holes filled in from an old satellite dish wasn't addressed either.
When I realized the job hadn't actually been finished, I called up Hope and explained the situation.  Several hours later she got back to me to let me know that they were very sorry and that Brian took personal responsibility for not communicating properly with the crew.  I was informed they would be out the next morning to finish the job and fill in those additional holes as I had requested.  I said I'd be willing to pay extra for that since it wasn't part of the original estimate, but they did not end up charging me for it.  They did complete the job and I have no complaints about the quality of the work.  It has rained several times since the work was done, and I have not noticed any water coming in.  The house is completely open - gutted down to the studs, so there is really nowhere for the water to hide at this point.
I feel really conflicted writing this review.  I was very happy with their previous work, have always been satisfied with my contact with Hope, and have found their work to be of good quality.  However, the confusion regarding scheduling and the fact that the job was not actually performed fully until I complained make me hesitant to recommend them.  I suspect that they are possibly taking on more clients than they can adequately handle in the time frames stated.
