"I hired Top of the Line to do snow & ice removal for my entire property which entailed a full length driveway, front porch, backyard, deck & full patio plus the sidewalk. I contacted them almost a week after the recent big snow storm that left 2 feet plus the added snowfalll a few days after which added another 6" on top. The wait complicated conditions by adding a thick layer of ice on top of the snow mounds plus a layer underneath on the ground. I could barely move in my backyard with the amount of snow & dreaded even going outside when it all turned to ice. It was a difficult & challenging job that they made look easy. Matt & Alex were diligent, extremely hardworking & very professional. Plus, they're respectful, polite & friendly. These gentleman worked really hard not cutting corners but got everything done so quickly. They were very thorough & meticulous, cleared everything, took it all right down to the blacktop plus salted literally everywhere. They did an excellent job that exceeded my expectations. During the estimate process, I expressed concern about his truck damaging my asphalt driveway. He took note and on the day of the job he left the truck on the street and used manual labor and small machinery to lug everything back to the street. He probably saved me thousands of dollars from avoiding asphalt damage. Beyond this, during execution of the job, Samuel was easy to work with and answered all my questions to insure everything was done to my satisfaction. Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch. If you’re trying to create a certain soil composition to improve plant growth, you’ll likely want compost mixed into the topsoil instead of mulch.
