"Tomasz was very courteous and knowledgeable. He communicated very clearly on the problem and the steps to repair the dishwasher. We will call again when we need service."
"Thomas (the technician) quickly diagnosed the problem with my dishwasher and recommended a replacement part. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. I would highly recommend Neli as a low cost alternative to expensive appliance repairs."
"Patchy at best. MND had come over for estimating a job earlier for which I had confirmed on the spot. The job was the done the same day to my satisfaction. A few weeks later, I needed a couple of gas appliances installed and had scheduled with them, however failed to turn up on the scheduled day."
"The repairman seemed honest. He told me what the problem with the dishwasher was and that he could fix it but it would probably break again. We decided to just get a new dishwasher. He told me the price of the part for the refrigerator and we still haven't made a decision about it. I was a little disappointed that the man who returned one of my later calls couldn't find the paperwork from the job as a reference. They never fixed anything, but they were honest. "
"It was an easy fix. Provider came out at 7PM on a Friday night. It was a simple matter of adjusting the gas valve on the water tank, with instruction to put vents on the closet doors where the unit was housed. Although I questioned the service tech about a new water heater, he assured me it was not necessary. I know of other companies who would have jumped on that opportunity to make an unnecessary sale, so I can't say enough how much I appreciated the honesty! "

"Everything was fine from their prompt arrival, their shoe covers, their efficient movement around the house and the explanation of why they needed to do something. At one point Ben showed me a piece of equipment that, while it would perform an additional function as far as heating efficiency, was a significant additional expense. I declined the installation and there was no pressure to buy it. Both men were considerate of my home. When one of the vents was near my cable router something was disconnected my internet service. Ben would not leave without getting the internet back online. All in all they did an excellent service for a fair price. "
"Great. Reported late Fri PM. Lone Star Appliance contacted me Monday AM, and came to appt. Tue PM as scheduled. Tech. was knowledge, and professional, advising the process. Choice Home Warranty (CHW) would advise how it would go forward. Wed. PM CHW made a cash settlement offerer. I did not want new unit. Claim manager advised the reason for cash offer was due to no brand name part available. We came to an agreement to replace the dishwasher. I investigated for several days, and new unit ordered yesterday, and being installed tomorrow. The settlement was fair. This is the 3rd appliance CHW has replaced over 5 years and 2 properties. I do and have recommended Choice Home Warranty."
Dishwasher Installation questions, answered by experts
Some common signs you have a dirty dishwasher filter are:
Food sticking to your dishes even after a thorough wash cycle
Odor coming from your dishwasher
Stains left on dishes and utensils
Water pooling in your dishwasher
Food stuck to parts of the dishwasher, like the racks, walls, or sprayer arm
You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.
Key items and surfaces to avoid include:
Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.
Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.
Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.
Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.
Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.
Your dishwasher drains through a hose that attaches to the plumbing below your sink or snakes out the back of your machine. In most cases, you can access one side of the hose from below your sink, as it usually ties into the same drainline that your sink uses. Otherwise, you may need to pull the dishwasher out of the counter to access it.
It’s not worth fixing a 20-year-old dishwasher or any 20-year-old appliance. Twenty years is beyond the useful life span of nearly every major household appliance. Once the appliance nears the end of its useful life span, repairs will become more frequent. A replacement often becomes more cost-effective at that point.
When deciding whether to repair or replace your dishwasher, consider its age, the repair cost, and its warranty status. It is often worth repairing a dishwasher if it is only a few years old, the problem is minor, or the appliance is still under warranty. A common guideline is the 50% rule: if the repair cost is less than 50% of the price of a new unit, a repair is generally recommended. However, if the dishwasher is more than 10 years old or requires frequent repairs, replacement is likely the more cost-effective choice to avoid future issues. For context, a new dishwasher costs between $1,000 and $1,500 on average, while typical repairs cost several hundred dollars. Simple fixes like a damaged gasket or clogged filter can be inexpensive, but major repairs like a new pump or motor can be costly.
