"Everything went wonderfully. He provided me a detailed statement of work from the very beginning, and charged fair prices. He paid attention to detail and I knew exactly what he was going to do. He also showed up when he said he would and continually communicated with me. His work was well done, And I am very happy with the job. I will hire him again and he has become my new go-to contractor."

"Everything went perfectly. They were prompted everyday and worked around my schedule. They went the extra mile for detail and attention. They were not the cheapest, but they did perform the most work for the lowest price. The competition all wanted more money for cleaning and rebuild. I would recommend them for anyone looking for mold remediation and build back."

"I hired Mack's Mold Removal after careful consideration of others that provided similar services. I made the decision to hire Jeff, and I am glad I did. He arrived on time and performed the work as promised. I was impressed with the quality of work within the time restraints I had. He also honored the estimated price he initially drafted for the job. I highly recommend Jeff's services to anybody confronted with mold related issues."

"Jeremiah came out and tested the air and moisture and other items to determine if I had mold in my basement. After getting the test results there was evidence of mold and he recommended a company that provides a do it yourself kit for mold remediation. (Not cheap). After getting the items and realizing that there was more work, it would have been better for me to let my insurance company handle this as I do have coverage for mold/fungi. Though having a professional do the work is expensive, from what Jeremiah mentioned, it does not guarantee that the work will be complete or the source of the problem taken care of. He mentioned most companies will take care of the mold but not necessarily the cause of the mold. For this I would have to contact another company."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Vermiculite insulation can be hazardous if it contains asbestos. Asbestos fibers, when released into the air and inhaled, can pose significant health risks. The EPA recommends leaving vermiculite insulation undisturbed to avoid potential exposure. It is crucial to have vermiculite insulation tested by a certified professional to determine if it contains asbestos. If asbestos is present, proper precautions should be taken, including containment or removal by licensed abatement professionals.

Signs of mold sickness often manifest as respiratory issues, including coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and sneezing. You might also experience symptoms that resemble allergies, such as itchy eyes and sinus infections. Other telltale signs include skin irritations, persistent and unexplainable headaches, and mental confusion, often described as 'brain fog.' It's important to remember that mold can cause health problems even if it's not visible, as it can grow inside walls. If you are experiencing these unexplained symptoms, you may want to consider a professional mold inspection.

If the smell is closer to mildew or rotten eggs, the issue is probably mold or bacteria buildup in the machine or its drainage system. Clean your washing machine thoroughly, paying close attention to the rubber door gasket, as it can harbor odor-causing residue. Some machines have lint or debris filters that should also be checked and cleaned according to the user manual's instructions. Be sure to leave the machine's door or lid open after each use, as this allows for better air circulation and helps prevent mold growth.

You can throw away moldy things if desired, but you can also clean the mold from certain items. Saving wood furniture by cleaning the mold is possible. You also can clean mold from plastic, metal, and glass materials. It’s far more difficult to clean mold from paper, carpet, cardboard, and mattresses.

When soffits aren’t vented, the airflow can’t infiltrate your attic space which results in stale air trapped inside. Over time—sometimes very quickly—that trapped air can result in a moisture sink, causing rapidly growing mold issues throughout the home. You should generally avoid covering or fully closing off soffits, even in the winter months, as the ability to circulate air is far more important than the meager increase in heating costs.
