"We hired this contractor almost a year ago to do various projects. The work was supposed to be finished in 10 days according to the contract. We are here almost a year later and there is still work that is unfinished. I paid Martin before all of the work was completed, and I can’t get ahold of him to finish the work now. The pipe still hasn’t been cut, and there is still a huge piece of concrete in our side yard. I’m not sure what to do now."

"Bob came to fix the fireplace and he did fix the problem but unfortunately the problem reoccurred and the fireplace was out of service again. Like he stated if there were any problems call him back. So, we called him right back and he said that I’ll get back to you. After 8 follow up phone calls there was no response from Bob. I’ll never use this place again for any services."

Modern gas fireplaces are relatively efficient and don't burn excessive amounts of gas, especially compared to older models. A gas fireplace might use between 10,000 to 40,000 BTUs per hour; the total amount of gas used depends on the fireplace's size, heat output, and how often it's in use. You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides. 

Most water heaters today use atmospheric venting that exhausts the gas out of the home through a pipe.

While you can install a gas dryer yourself, we recommend hiring a pro to help with any work involving gas (safety first!). Keep in mind that your gas dryer will have to meet specific codes and standards. While it will cost more money to work with a professional, it will be money well spent knowing that it’s hooked up correctly.
