Customers say: Quality work

"I needed some maintenance done on my gas fired steam boiler. Mike and his son John came out and explained thoroughly what needed to be done. They got the job done and for a very reasonable cost. Mike saved me a ton of money because the previous plumber that came to my house estimated the job at a very very high cost and it turns out that work didn't even need to be done! If you want an honest and fair contractor Mike's Your Man from Delaware Valley Plumbing and Heating. I got to tell you folks Mike and his son John are to the nicest , honest people I've ever met. I have two other projects coming up in the future that I definitely want Mike to do. I can't say enough good things about Delaware Valley Plumbing and Heating. Do yourself a favor call Delaware Valley Plumbing and Heating for all your plumbing and heating needs and they will take the stress out of what you need to have done."

"Oscar was exceptional in repairing my AC unit. I called him on a Friday afternoon and he diagnosed the issue right over the phone. He would have came out the same day if it wasn’t due to the rain. Instead he came out Saturday morning and fixed the issue in about 30 minutes. The price was more than reasonable.I would highly recommend him to anyone."

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

Deciding whether to repair or replace your HVAC system largely depends on its age, the cost of repairs, and its overall performance. If the system is over a decade old and requires frequent or expensive repairs (e.g., totaling over $5,000), replacement is often the more cost-effective choice, especially if the warranty has expired. It is usually worth repairing a newer system, but if it is approaching the end of its typical 15- to 25-year lifespan, replacement might be a better long-term investment. Signs that you may need a replacement include increased humidity, higher energy bills, uneven heating or cooling, and excessive dust. Before deciding, ask your HVAC contractor to check if any parts are covered under warranty, which could save you money on repairs.

Most HVAC companies charge a flat service call fee of between $75 and $150, which includes traveling to your home and inspecting your system to find the underlying problem. Keep in mind that these prices only include diagnostics and the actual repairs will usually be billed separately. If you’re calling for routine service, the service call will be included in your inspection and tune-up, with the total sitting around $150. Your prices could be a little higher if you have a very large home with multiple condensers and air handlers, as inspections and servicing take longer.

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and technical expertise required. Hire licensed professionals.

After you receive your audit and report, review the findings and determine which of the prescribed changes you want to make to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Start by contacting the type of professionals recommended by the auditor who can help you remedy the issues discovered during the audit. Prioritize the projects by urgency, importance, and budget. Then, gather estimates from several professionals, remembering to verify any necessary licensing and experience information.

A furnace is a big unit where gas, heating oil, or electricity heats the air. The warmed air is then pushed back out through ducts and vents.

A boiler uses electricity, heating oil, or gas to heat water that is pushed into the room through a radiator. This is one of the oldest and most effective ways to heat a house, but radiators can also be unsightly and leave hot and cold spots in the room.

Heat pumps use a refrigerant to move heat from outside into the house and return it to the room through ducts and vents.
