"When we moved into our new house 16 years ago, I considered investing in a lawn irrigation system. But the priorities of all the things one needs to do look different when you are new to a house. So for all these years I have struggled with buying all kinds of hoses and sprinklers that leak, Orbitz hose timers that leak, and soaker hoses that are great the fort three feet then just peter out to a drip. I finally decided to get help after a broiling summer, seeing years of hard work on my lawn go to dessert. Several reputable experts recommended R&R Irrigation. I spoke to a few others, but R&R really seemed like this is what they do…and do well. I was not disappointed. R&R master irrigator, Dan James, came out and walked my property. He mapped out what looked to be a great systematic approach. The price seemed fair and they were able to get me in with enough time left for me to do fall power seeding, worthless if you can’t keep the seed bed moist. I made the right choice. Within ten days I had my permit and a crew of six hard working guys tearing up by front and back yard. They were not able to use the ditch witch in my pool area so there was a lot of digging by hand. Carlos and Marco kept me informed along the way. I was amazed at what it takes to do a job like this. I had no idea. It took six people two days to complete everything, including hand digging to install a drainage pipe off one of my roof gutters that was dumping rainwater into my basement. After it was all installed, my lawn was smooth and even. You could hardly tell that it had been “gophered up” to install all this apparatus. Dan and Marcos helped me set up the control panel and made it easy for me to understand how to make adjustments. Now instead of getting up every morning next summer to move sprinklers around, I can sleep in. This should have been priority one 16 years ago. I’m just glad I decided to do it now and especially pleased that I chose R&R Irrigation to handle the work. By the way, my landscaper told me that a neighbor up the street had just installed a sprinkler system but the code enforcement officer made the company pull it all up because the lines were not planted deep enough. Then my neighbor had to argue with the irrigation company. This is hard, complicated work. If you are going to do it, do your homework on the company you select. I am happy I did."

"We asked Sage come over to look at our lawn where we had major drainage issue from our neighbor who is slightly uphill from us. Sage called in advance informing us that he is running late, which is fine with us, and we appreciate it for the call very much. Once he is onsite, he took a thorough look at our property, and told us his diagnosis, basically this issue is caused by the problem on the neighboring property. He said he can fix the problem for us on our side, but he suggested us to talk to the neighbor first and see if they can address the issue on their side first, because he thinks once our neighbor fix on their side, there shouldn't be any issue anymore. He even went beyond and offered to talk to our neighbor on our behalf! We were new to the neighbor hood , and didn't have much idea on how to approach our neighbor on this kind of issue. Sage's willingness to help is beyond our expectation. In the end, our neighbor did agree to fix on their side, so we didn't need to do anything. However, we have no doubt in our mind that if we ever need anything done to our lawn, Sage's service will be the only one we would consider. thank you!

Every other company priced significantly higher due to excessive zones turning a simple job into a overpriced bid. Joey at Drew Harps came through with exactly what we needed with no upcharges for controllers. We got the right amount of zones, complete coverage and wifi controller for half of what others wanted. Do yourself a favor, get an estimate by them before you decide."

"I was very satisfied with the installation.  The workers arrived on time, worked efficiently, and from all indications the installed product is of high quality.  The supervisor was extremely helpful with the planning and managed the job well.  He responded quickly when I notified the company a few days after the installation that some adjustment was needed on three of the sprinklers. "I was having  a problem with water leaking out into the yard from an unknown source. Called several companies (I open the system myself) who said it was probably a defective valve or leaking manifold causing the issue. I asked for a ball park number which ranged from $200 to $325 "depending on what would have to be replaced". I called Quality Irrigation who took the time to ask specific questions on the phone. He came up with the same diagnosis but said with any luck it may be repairable without taking apart the manifold. He came out the next day, literally took the valve apart to find that a stainless steel nut was stuck in the diaphragm causing the value to slow leak and flood the yard. He reassembled the valve, boot up the system and it worked like a charm. He charged me just for his time, $85. I now have a new sprinkler service company! Thank you..."

The booking was easy and the tech was on time. He did what I was expecting, to open the system up. However, while a number of the heads were not turning and would need to replaced, he provided me and my wife with an estimate for $700 to replace 7 total heads!! He said, because we have well water, they'd recommend using heads that include steel, so they are $65 each, plus he added $15 to "lower" the heads based on newer standards with sprinklers. This was way more than I wanted to spend and also $400+ more than an estimate I then received from another company to do the same work using sprinklers of the same quality but not replacing all 7, instead replacing just 4. The cost per sprinkler head was more in the $35-$40 range.

I'm sure Royal irrigation knows what they are doing as far as sprinklers, and I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the second estimate has me thinking that they are overpriced. They also didn't seem to want to work with us to find something that worked in our budget, unlike other vendors.

"Overall, I felt his guys did a good job. They were very professional and responsive but sometimes there was only so much they could do because Craig was not present 90% of the time. He was always responsive to my phone calls, but somewhat evasive in addressing the issues I raised. He wasn't the cheapest option, but I decided to go with him because he seemed knowledgeable and honest. Since paying for the work, I've not been able to get Craig to make good on the guarantees in the contract. 1. They never graded/fixed the drainage issue I had in my backyard. I've complained and sent many pictures showing that if anything, the puddling of water in the backyard was actually worse than before, but other than sending a guy once with dirt and seeds, nothing was done. 2. Three of the arborvitaes they planted are dead and have not replaced despite 1 year guarantee on the trees and numerous calls(10+) this year and promises to send someone out to replace them. -Soon after they added the 2 feebled cypresses my other full grown, healthy cypresses started to wither and die. Granted, I don't know for sure if this was a result of anything they did or just a coincidence. 3. They did a good job with the fencing, but one thing that alarmed me was that they either forgot/didn't know that the gates needed to have steel inserts. These were only added after I noticed and questioned him about it. -After they installed the fences, water would pool around the the fence posts which says to me that something wasn't done properly, but I ended up just fixing it myself. -Right now, one of the gates wont open properly. Maybe the posts got shifted. I'll probably end up paying someone to fix it."
