"Harvey and his team did a great job, everything looks great now and is properly installed. They were on time and completed on time and cleaned up after themselves. Harvey fixed work that was very badly done by another contractor."

"I have a block foundation with hairline cracks, and I was referred from a colleague who had used this company previously, Eddy sent out a specialist who Explained I was experiencing hydrostatic pressure around the perimeter of my home And gave me several different options to remediate the issue with respect to my budget. I chose to have the cracks patched from the interior as well as have a perimeter drain installed. moisture readings were taken, and the sump pump was also inspected for precautionary measures."

"Jonathan did an excellent job, completing various tasks around our home efficiently, correctly, timely, and very competitively priced. We have found our go-to handyman who is skilled in many areas and even has certification for electrical work. He installed book shelves in our basement, ledge shelves in our bedroom, a utility shelf in our laundry room (which needed to be cut to size), 4 grab bars in different locations (my wife is disabled and needs these for support), and an undersink water filter which required drilling through a marble counter top. He is personable and a good communicator. We are already putting together our list for his next tasks. I highly recommend giving him a try."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

No, it is not safe to leave a propane heater on overnight. Even if you’re using the heater in a well-ventilated space, the heaters can emit carbon monoxide that can lead to fires. Be sure to fully turn off and secure the propane heater before clearing the area.

Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door.

You can install a range hood and use the vent to protect your kitchen cabinets from heat and steam from the stovetop. For added heat protection, homeowners can install metal heat shields to exposed sections of the cabinets. It is also essential to keep cabinet surfaces clean by removing any grease buildup that can cause a fire.

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.

Yes. Even when it’s not in use, an outlet is still connected to wiring, and if the wiring is faulty or wet, a fire can occur. Broken outlets can also cause fires, for the same reasons; in fact, most broken outlets are broken due to damaged or worn-out wiring. It’s worth replacing outlets that are old or damaged with the help of an electrician.
