"We are thrilled with our remodeled bathroom! It’s a small room but the team came in and transformed the space into something beautiful. They handled all aspects from tile removal and breakdown through installing new shower, fixtures, tile and paint. They were punctual, professional and thorough. Great job - we will work with them again when we start our next project."

Small jobs welcome

"I was more than satisfied with Horace. He was a true professional. He arrived on time, submitted an estimate by evening, scheduled the date for the work. Call to inform me he would be a little late approximately 1 1/2 hours and sure enough he arrived at the rearranged time. The men were real professionals. Work was excellent and the clean up was great! I would highly recommend this company for any type of work and would definitely use them in the future."

Small jobs welcome

Hi, my name is Andrey, and I own Instant Home Improvements. I've had my company for two years, but I have seven years of experience in construction. I've worked mostly in northeastern New Jersey. I'm based in Sussex County, but I can travel to the surrounding counties. I have experience remodeling bathrooms, kitchens, and flooring, but my distinguishing skill is my knowledge of drywall installation and spackle application. I do most of the work inside homes. I always strive to ensure the client is happy with the finished project. I enjoy seeing the before and after of a home renovation and knowing that I did everything possible to make it turn out well.\n

"I had Mr. Belmont do a number of projects in my home including the replacement of my wooden chimney. He was very efficient and prompt. His pricing was extremely reasonable and his workmanship was very good. He even did some additional work and refused payment. Mr. Belmont is a good man who is trustworthy and reliable."

Fire Pit Installation FAQs, answered by experts

Installing a spark arrestor on your home’s chimney is an essential task. It reduces fire risk and ensures your chimney is compliant for insurance and building code purposes. Not having a spark arrestor could invalidate your home insurance or cause snags when it comes to a house sale.

A fireplace hearth is necessary in most areas per building codes, especially for gas and wood-burning fireplaces. Electric fireplaces may not require a hearth, so check local building codes or ask a pro for guidance if you’re leaning toward electric. A fireplace hearth can decrease the risk of flying embers creating a fire and burning your home down. That’s why fireproof material, like tile, is used for the hearth.

You should never block both the top and bottom of your chimney. Proper airflow is essential because the temperature inside the chimney will still fluctuate as your house warms and cools. Moisture can build up without ventilation, leading to dampness in your walls over time. Blocking the top prevents debris and animals from entering, but the chimney still needs air circulation to avoid condensation issues. Allowing the chimney to breathe maintains the health of your home and prevents long-term damage.

You should only use water to put out a fire in your fireplace in an emergency situation. Even then, it is better to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire quickly. Make sure every room in your house that has a fireplace also has a fire extinguisher—and that everyone in your household knows how to use one.

Testing a fire extinguisher by discharging even a small amount will void the warranty on the product. Pushing down the pressure pin on top and waiting to see if it pops up is the best way to ensure it’s still pressurized. If you’re concerned about your extinguisher, hire an expert for a professional inspection.
