"Jason and his associate arrived on time and completed the work for the agreed price of $250. He did a thorough job removing the old, loose mortar from the firebox walls and applying fresh mortar, and he also added insulation at the top of the firebox as promised. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is due to the cleaning method. We had discussed using suction from the top of the chimney to draw dust upward and prevent it from entering the room, but instead he used a vacuum hose from the firebox. This approach wasn’t as effective and allowed some dust into the living space. He mentioned that the draft would prevent backflow, but in this case it didn’t work entirely as expected. Overall, Jason was punctual, professional, and pleasant to work with. It would have been even better if the originally discussed suction method had been used."
