I also had a job that required some consultation on what could be done and how to do it. This job was a new pond. Alex easily completed BOTH jobs ON TIME!! The pond ended up being much harder than I thought. Terribly rocky soil, extreme heat, and lots of vegetation to remove. Again, Alex made it look easy. After seeing what Alex was able to do, I knew he was undercharging for his experience and expertise. The final bill was EXACTLY what Alex told me it would be. They came to cut down one tree as I had the $249 for 400 worth of tree service I believe it was. However, I got an estimate for another very big tall tree that the tip had already cracked and broken off during a storm. It was a disaster waiting to happen, they gave a very good price for the, and suggested I clear the entire area. The best part was when they were done the replace wood retainers that the previous owners must have removed and never replaced. The filled the area with the wood chips from the job and lined the area with the wood retainers along the perimeter. That was above and beyond and I feel that I got a good job for a good price.

The only issue I had was that they told that putting the wood chips down it would smoother the unwanted growth and kill it, which is why I allowed the wood chips. However, that was not the case it started growing back. If I knew I would not have allowed the wood chips until the growth was treated to be killed. As it is right now my lawn guy will no longer mow the growth as he use to because of the unsettled wood chips that the growth is in. I have to figure out what to do now.

"After meeting with a number of other contractors for our project, we decided to hire MD Construction. We hired MD Construction to replace the failing retaining wall in our driveway as well as installing steps to a paved pathway that leads to our yard. We met with Miguel (the owner of the MD Construction) and he is very knowledgeable with the process and materials involved. They gave us a great price and provided us with a copy of their insurance and NJ contractor’s license. When they started the work, we had very bad rainstorms the entire week, which made their job even harder. However, they were diligent and professional throughout the process and completed the project on time and within budget. The wall looks great and is an appealing improvement to the home. We will be using them again to replace our patio in our backyard."
