"The street connecting mine was under construction at the time of my appointment and the staff of US Water Consultants waited almost an hour before being allowed to pass the construction in order to keep my appointment - that's great customer service. They were knowledgeable about my problem, gave me good tips on keeping my softener in good shape and only charged me for the replacement parts. I will definitely call them again if the need ever arises."

"Totally excellent service. My furnace was not working so I had no hot water. I called after 7 pm and Mike was there first thing in the morning to check it out. He located the problem and took immediate action to resolve it. Called suppliers, located the part for a 57 year old furnace. The following day Jason and Chase came and made the repair. Cost effective price with professional workmanship. Reliable and trustworthy."

"We had the distinct pleasure of having Richard solve ALL of our water needs. Very personable (easy to talk to and a good listener), and knowledgeable in every aspect of water supply. Our dug well was not providing potable water. Pump was rusted and could not keep pressure. Replaced with submersible pump, ran new piping and electric line, added a water softener and Arsenic removal, alongside a Point of Use reverse osmosis line to kitchen sink. Quality at every level. He is our go to guy for all our water needs. Doug Knight"

"Gage has been excellent to work with. We will hire him any time we need something in the future. The work site is always clean, the new install always looks tidy. He has installed a water filter, fixed several leaks in old plumbing, replaced hose bibs, worked on our booster and expansion tank, replaced fixtures. It's always great work."

Small jobs welcome

"I finally got to build my dream garage to store all my tools and have a cool hangout on Friday nights with the boys n a couple coors. Chris came and did everything from the bathroom and the heating system. I will definitely be calling him back to add a mini split in the future. He was professional, punctual and clean. Very knowledgeable you can tell he cares about his clients."

"George and his team did an excellent job with the install. I received quotes that were much higher for the same project and similar systems. As busy as George was he always answered my questions leading up to the install and was there right when he said he would be. George even helped me plumb a water line to my refrigerator and didn't charge me for the material he used! I have already recommended Absolute Water Systems to a friend and will certainly be using them for any future projects."

"Priority Pump LLC performed the replacement of a pressure tank for my well. They were very informative in the initial project discussions and extremely forthcoming with options available to me. They were very open with pricing options over the phone and scheduling the work was handled very quickly. I was extremely satisfied with the project work that was completed and Priority Pump LLC provided the best value for money of the three contractors I contacted to perform the work. I will most definitely use Priority Pump LLC in the future if I have problems with my well pump or any other aspects of my water system. You will NOT be disappointed with Priority Pump LLC."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

You can install a water softener system by turning off the water supply, draining the water, and then connecting your device to the waterline. Next, you’ll fill your tank with the recommended amount of salt or brine (whichever your unit calls for; be sure to read the instructions). Turn the water supply on and check for leaks. You can opt to let your water run for a few minutes, then test it using strips.

The process of inspecting your water softener system is similar.

A water softener removes minerals from your drinking water and can make your house water softer. These softeners are designed to extend the lifetime of your plumbing system while also making water safer and more palatable for drinking. Hard water, which is water with a heavy amount of suspended particles, can also cause hair damage, skin irritation, and buildup in your pipes.

Replacing a water softener costs $200 to $6,000, depending on the capacity of the water softener, the type of water softener, and the amount of people living in your home. An ion exchange water softener is the most common type and costs $500 to $3,000. Water distillers, which cost $1,200 to $4,000, and dual-tank models, which cost $1,000 to $5,000, are definitely pricey, but they offer more filtration or capacity, respectively.

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.

Yes. To get soft water, you can install a water softening system, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners cost anywhere from $200 to $6,000, depending on the size and complexity of the system. You can either install a water softener for the whole house or just at your shower heads. If you’re sensitive to sodium or potassium, you can install a salt-free water conditioner.
