"Proprietor is very personable, thorough, and sincere. He took the time to review all options available for the job. He also spent time helping me to understand proper use of set up as well as operation of the portable generator. He also gave me insight to yearly maintenance needs and reasons for that maintenance. His work was done quickly, completely and area was left clean. I would recommend Chad Woods Electric to anyone looking for a great electrical contractor"

"He surpassed Gagnon Electric on knowhow & best solution to an ongoing Living Room Circuit that continually tripped. He checked to see that we were compliant with surgeprotection box w/green lights working properly. It was sufficient to handle lightening strikes & correctly installed. He was thorough in testing amps & supplied us with a Arch Grounding new socket that works very well with air conditioner's ground plug. Very satisfied with his work & attention to detail. Noticed we had a broken outside outlet cover & replaced it with a better model! Awesome Job! Hire This Navy Vet!!!"

"Arete’s team was incredibly professional and efficient. They completed my HVAC job in a timely manner and beat competitor’s pricing. Their team was very respectful of my home and even wiped the floor after each day’s work. Every member of the team was kind and respectful. Will certainly work with them again in the future for any of my HVAC/electrical needs."

"I came home on a 90 degree day with half my bedroom having no electrical including AC. He called me right back. He went through and fixed the problem and explained everything along the way. The price was very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing electrical work. Didn't push anything extra either. Great guy too!"

"Dave was great! Top quality work at a fair price. I needed a degraded riser cable that feeds the meter box outside the house replaced. Another company gave me a ridiculous quite which included current code updates that said I needed. My town electrical inspector said that none of those were required for a simple riser cable replacement. I highly recommend Lanzillo Electric!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Signs that your Hudson home may need electrical updates include outlets that feel loose, two-prong outlets, or visible cloth-wrapped wiring—common in older homes. If you see scorch marks, have GFCIs that don’t reset, or rely on extension cords for permanent power, it’s time to consider rewiring. Outdated aluminum wiring and panels without proper grounding are also red flags that should be addressed for safety.

Helpful?

In Hudson, selecting the right electrical materials is essential for safety and longevity, especially with cold winters and humid summers. Opt for THWN-2 copper wire, which resists moisture and temperature swings. Use heavy-duty outlets and switches with secure, brass contacts for reliability. For underground wiring, PVC conduit protects against frost and shifting soil. Always install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas to meet local safety requirements.

Helpful?

In Hudson, electrical problems like dimming lights, tripping breakers, or dead outlets usually point to wiring or panel issues. However, if GFCI outlets trip repeatedly, check for moisture from basement leaks or plumbing problems, which are common locally. If you have a well, pump failures may appear electrical but could be mechanical. Testing outlets with different devices can help narrow down the root cause.

Helpful?

In Hudson, basements and crawl spaces often require electrical attention due to moisture and shifting foundations. Outdoor outlets and lighting are vulnerable to snow, ice, and temperature swings, making regular checks important. Kitchens and bathrooms need frequent GFCI updates to stay code-compliant. Electrical panels in homes built before 1990 may need upgrades, especially after severe weather. Annual inspections help catch issues early and keep your home safe.

Helpful?

In Hudson, address urgent electrical issues like flickering lights, burning odors, or frequent breaker trips right away, as these can signal fire hazards. For upgrades such as adding outlets or smart home features, plan around seasonal changes—outdoor projects are best completed before winter, while indoor updates can wait until after the heating season. Prioritize repairs that impact safety or are worsened by local weather conditions.
