The countertop people took out the old sink but told me only on the day they installed that they wouldn't be able to replace my sink themselves. I didn't have a chance to have my regular plumber lined up ahead of time, and they weren't available, but they recommended Buds. These people were wonderful. They understood how flummoxed I was and how urgently I needed it done. Through not fault of their own (or mine) they had to come back 3 times before it was done -- each time, they did everything possible to work me in around their existing schedule to get it all done as quickly as possible. Both the plumber, Scott, and the woman on the other end of the phone were super nice and efficient. Price was less than I feared, and Scott had very good suggestions for optimizing my kitchen plumbing design. I would definitely recommend them, and expect to use them again. Peggy, in the office, helped me balance between the look we wanted and the price we could afford, and when we found a match, she snagged a piece and kept it ready for me so that they could install as soon as we were ready. I took a kitchen floor plan in to the office and we discussed possible options for how to support the part of the counter-top that would be used as an open space for kitchen stools. The in-store designer said that they would work with me to find the best way to support the counter-top, and agreed that I could use table legs, as I had planned, with possibly some additional support. I didn't realize until they installed it that this mean they would tell me I'd have to call a contractor to come in an install a support after they installed the counter-top. I thought they would come prepared to install any needed support themselves, which was why I had the discussion in the first place. Also, a few days before installation, I went to the web site to see if there was anything I needed to do ahead of time (empty or remove drawers, call a plumber, etc.). There was no information about the installation process online, so I just did what seemed logical (turns out not QUITE what was needed, but mostly ok). I did discuss with the person who came to the house for the initial measurements that I was planning to reuse the existing sink. He talked to me about what different sink options would mean in terms of the countertop installed -- whether it would require seams in the stone -- but neglected to tell me that I would need to hire a plumber to reinstall the sink. Apparently they can remove the sink, but not reinstall it. The first I knew that I would have to call the plumber was when they asked me; "When is the plumber coming?" They did not have a plumber working with them or recommend a plumber, just told me that I would need to call someone. So, instead of having a plumber all lined up to make the installation go smoothly, I ended up paying for an emergency plumbing visit that afternoon, since I was blindsided by the need for one. But, other than the communication glitches, the installation went well and it does look very nice. He inspected a house that we sold a few years ago and I sought him out because of his thoroughness. He arrived a little late but conducted a very comprehensive house inspection, checking all plumbing, electrical, and structural elements of the house, pointing out items out of code, recommendations for repair for any defects, and areas of potential trouble. He checked and ran the appliances, checked every electrical outlet with and without GFI, ran the furnace and heating system, checked the chimney, and crawled into the attic to check insulation and structure. He even pulled the electrical panel to check the wiring. We had arranged for a well inspection and water testing 2 days before but he does offer water testing for additional fees. He also offers radon air testing which we are doing. I haven't received the written report yet but am completely satisfied with the service. I accompanied him throughout the inspection and he was friendly, professional, courteous and answered any question I posed. Total cost was $400 for a 2000 sq ft house plus $120 for the radon air testing. He took a little over 4 hours to complete the job. Patriot was established by four industry leaders with over 50 years of collective experience. Drawing from extensive collaboration with major home improvement corporations, we developed a strategic vision that culminated in the formation of Patriot. Our motivation stemmed from identifying inefficiencies within prominent home improvement firms and their impact on everyday consumers. At Patriot, our mission is rooted in a commitment to serve the community.
"Patriot Bath Remodeling (PBR) provided excellent craftsmanship, excellent quality of materials, and excellent communications for my bathroom remodel. I had a very small, dingy, claustrophobic shower (32" x32") in a very cramped bathroom (6' x 6') that was in desperate need of replacement. PBR took the time to understand my needs and the restrictions of the room and transformed the area. PBR coordinated all details of the project from getting permits, to delivery of materials, and to scheduling the plumbers, floor installers, and electrician. Every workman was talented, courteous and professional; best of all they showed upon time and made every effort to minimize the unavoidable mess caused by remodeling in a very old house. I HIGHLY recommend these folks!!! You won’t regret it!!

"I signed a contract on the first week of June to have PIC Home ?Pros? remodel 3 bathrooms. They stayed for a week in the middle of September, and stopped coming, leaving a vanity in one bathroom, and a shower door in another bathroom completely uninstalled. On the last day here, I was told shower door still has not been manufactured yet, but would take a couple of weeks. They told me that it would cost $150 to have them come back to finish installation, even though contract was for them to complete the work. They ignored my emails to them, so after waiting for 3 weeks and receiving response to my email, I called them, and was told that the shower door is not ready, and even though it?s been 4 months since it was supposed to be ordered, there is still no ETA. I asked that they come back to install the vanity, since we still have no sink in one bathroom. I was told that would cost another $650 to come back and install it. They will work until they are paid in full, then abandon you. "

"I strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. I gave them a deposit of $4,428.65, and when I canceled a week later they kept almost $900 of it even though my service was not for another 6 weeks. You do sign a very simple, clearly stated document that says: should you cancel beyond three business days, you understand your deposit is non-refundable. Northern Basements may choose to refund depending on cancellation circumstances I fully acknowledge that I canceled a few days outside that window, but I hoped an honest company that cares about customers and referrals would choose to provide a full refund. I am a sucker for hoping that. They chose to risk my impression, referral, and review for $885.53. If nothing else comes out of this, I hope everyone reading at least goes in knowing that this statement on their contract is a real threat and your deposit is a hostage. Even Air b and bs offer full refunds on deposits within just a few days of their arrival date. 3 days to cancel with service not scheduled for 6 weeks out, Come on man. No materials were used. No service workers time was taken. The manager justified the 20% withholding as credit card fees, restocking fees, time and resources for the estimate, and administrative fees. I wholly accepted responsibility for the credit card fees and time of Paul, the gentleman who performed the assessment, and I offered to settle at 10%. I still believe any reputable company would have provided a full refund at this point in a project, or at most deduct the credit card fees because nothing more went into this beyond what would have normally been a free estimate. The further arguments the manager made for the additional fees were the scheduling of their team and the allocation of materials for my project. Complete nonsense, especially when the project was not set for 6 weeks away. Because they had my deposit hostage, they had control over how much they decided they wanted to keep, it was completely arbitrary, and they kept almost $900 of my money without providing anything. If they wanted to cover their credit card transaction fees, fine, at most 6%, but the rest is absolute robbery. The only solace I can find in this loss of almost $900 now is that I did not spend another $13,000 with them. I tried to call Paul after speaking with the manager to ask if he could do me a favor and try to reason with the manager on my behalf because he seemed nice enough. No answer. No callback. I will never seek out their services again and I will actively discourage others from doing so but, based on my experience, I expect they do not care."

FAQs for affordable plumbing projects in Hinsdale, NH
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.
The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
