"We really appreciate your business and your kind review! We hope to see you again for any future stone surface needs!"
"We would like to say thank you for your patronage. During this job there were many obstacles to overcome and we appreciate your grace in working with us to complete your project. We are very much aware of your concerns with the crews punctuality and we do our best to have everyone grouped into time frames of 9AM to 1PM or 1PM to 5PM. The crews is expected to arrive in a timely manner (within the allotted time frame) or notify the office if anything changes. This particular week proved to be challenging for our crew. The snow and ice backed us up the 2 days preceding your install. In the future we hope to have a better plan of action as to how to handle "mass cancellations" and "inclimate weather". Our deepest apologies as the crews are advised to clean their work area at the very least. We thank you very much for your feedback on how our business can run smoother and more effectively."
This job was much like a comedy of errors. During my initial meeting with the estimator Jack, my concerns began because he said a countertop template would not be prepared because, "That's why we're so cheap." In spite of that, I wasn't too concerned as my top is a simple "L" and any misalignment at the wall would be covered by the backsplash.
I had requested an a.m. schedule for installation but received a call on the scheduled day explaining that even though their scheduling calendar included my job, the "a.m." portion had been omitted and the crew had already left on another job so we rescheduled for the following Saturday. When the crew arrived that day and after my old sink and top had been removed, they realized the new top would not fit as it had been cut incorrectly. Fortunately, the crew reinstalled my old top/sink and after I reconnected the sink drain, I was able to continue to use the kitchen as normal. I have no idea what caused the incorrect countertop cut because Jack had correctly measured the sink centerline but the incorrect top dimensions did not match that centerline measurement and this prevented them was installing it. The job was rescheduled for the following Tuesday in order for a new slab to be cut.
On that day, the top went in and it does look good but the final polishing of the slab after it was cut lacks professionalism. Sliding your fingers over the top gives a slightly rough sensation in that it seems as if you're feeling tiny particles of sand every 1/2" or so. This is very much unlike the sample they provided or other slabs I've seen in that the others are smooth to the touch. Finally, yesterday I noticed a 6" gouge at my newly installed (3 months ago) sheet goods flooring caused by the crew moving the refrigerator. My refrigerator is on wheels but it's obvious from the scraping appearance of the gouge that instead of rolling the unit on its wheels, they pushed it sideways at some point thus dragging the wheels across the floor causing the damage.
I would not recommend this contractor.
"Hello Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your review and letting us know on some areas that we could work on to make our business better. Last october we moved offices and perhaps that is one of the reasons we were not as prompt in getting back to you. We do believe in taking care of our clients needs and requests in a timely manner and please accept our apology for the delay. If you still have questions with your sealant we would be more than happy to address your concern and we can make an appointment with a service technician. Please call our office at your convenience to make arrangements. Best Regards, Patrick"

"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for such a high mark of excellence for our company. We greatly appreciate your business and look forward to working with you in the future. Enjoy your new granite countertops. Best Regards, Patrick"
Our initial contact with the office staff was outstanding. Peggy, in
the office, was very helpful and gave her opinion, which we
appreciated. She made a suggestion of doing 1/2 bull nose on the parts
of the counter top that wouldn't show as much when I was wanting a full
bull nose all the way around. Did her suggestion and saved a bit while
still very satisfied with the look. She also had some suggestions for
various curves of the granite in a corner. I did not go with her
suggestions, but my husband liked her ideas better than mine, so the
ideas were appreciated and things we had not considered.
The
first day, the installation went very well with the John here as the
installer. Very professional and smooth. They had to come back a
second day and it did not go as well. John was not working and a second
crew came. They were not as professional and gave me push-back on
electrical sockets that John had started working around. There was some
issue with the way the sockets were initially installed by the
builder. John seemed to be willing to fix it and finish the granite
around them, but the second crew told me they were not electricians and I
would have to get electricians in to fix them. After some back and
forth, finally, John was called. John, on his day off, with his wife in
the car, came and fixed the sockets. His sacrifice and willingness to
finish the job was so impressive.
The second team installers were
very sloppy with the grout work around the granite, so I asked them to
not do it, knowing that I have a painter (Always Painting by Tommy) that
was coming who does very neat grout work. Tommy came in and saved the
day with the grout and it all looks fantastic.
Overall, very
pleased with the price of Stone 4Kitchen as they were several hundred
under everyone else. Also, overall, very pleased with customer
service. I just wish I didn't have to argue over finishing the job the
way it was started. I would recommend them for future purchases and installations.
If you do decide to go to their shop I suggest that you call in advance and get instructions (they are located behind a cabinet shop and not easy to find).
The granite and marble counters are absolutely stunning and they really bring this kitchen up to date.
I must tell you we shopped a number of places around the Newport News area and this place just blew the competition out of the water.
The price and service were outstanding, almost unbelievable.
I would honestly urge you to shop your wants/wish list around and then go to Stone4kitchen. Or save yourself all the time and go there first.
Peggy at the front desk is one hard working lady that is dedicated to taking your dream and turning it into reality.
She makes it happen.
Gana and his men are extremely talented artisans and really paid attention to my plan for the edge details and shape of my island. I just showed them my design on paper and they carried it out....
This was the absolute best part of the kitchen remodel for us and we could not be happier.
Thank you Stone4kitchen!
We had four estimates for replacing our laminate kitchen counters with granite, and Stone4Kitchen came in with the lowest estimate. They removed the old counters, and installed 72 feet of granite countertop, 4" backsplashes, and a new under-mount kitchen sink. The entire install went smoothly, and the 3-man crew was professional and upbeat. We had a special request involving the removal of one of the old countertops, and they handled it nicely with no complaints though it involved extra work on their part. The guys were gracious and stayed positive even during a brief power outage, which led to a long day on their part. The counters look beautiful and we are very happy with the work. We also used their recommended plumber (George) - he and his assistant did a fine job hooking the faucets and garbage disposal back up; he was fast and worked with the countertop crew's schedule, so it went very smoothly.
