Customers say: True professional

"JY paving is upstanding, trustworthy, professional, and highly skilled. The job being a 250ft driveway with two car turn around multiple curves and driveway water run-off pitch, was done with excellent fluidity blending to concrete sidewalk and parking concrete slab, Even with a 10 wheel dump truck breakdown still finished the job on time, and the crew while waiting built a rock base curving with back pitch at bottom of driveway going above and beyond, still honoring a 1&1/2 year old price quote saving thousands from 2022 quotes."

"Marvin & his crew did a fantastic job creating a beautiful front yard for me. They installed a paver walkway, flower beds, installed stone River rocks, mulch and planted flowers. They also placed an area of sod where I could not grow nice grass. They are friendly and want to make sure their customer is pleased with each step of their work. I plan on using them next year for my back yard patio installation and yard landscaping. I would highly recommend Garcia Landscaping. A++++"

"I have worked with over a dozen A-rated companies on Angie's List, and the Narrow Lane is my favorite. We have worked with them consistently for over 5 years. They are reliable, diligent, and very talented. I have spoken many times with the crew members and know that the Narrow Lane pays fair wages and respects all labor and finance laws. Here is a story: when heavy snow tipped one of our giant arborvitae over, the snowplow crew noticed. Before we even asked for help, the owner of the Narrow Lane was on site to assess the problem. His crew righted the tree immediately and saved its root system, also saving us a lot of money. The company has the intimacy of a small business, but I have been surprised by the breadth of their capabilities. They have a landscape architect with decades of experience. Many of the team members have a deep knowledge of botany. They have heavy equipment and take care of stonework and landscape lighting. If you hire the Narrow Lane for snow removal, the operations director will send you an email before EVERY winter storm discussing the forecast and the company's plan for your property. You can call or email them at any time to modify the plan based on your needs, for example, your work schedule. In summary, the Narrow Lane is a high-performing company that adheres to its principles and will take very good care of you and your property!"

"Very well. The snow removal is prompt and well done, and our driveway/back area is very difficult to maneuver in. The new driveway asphalt is terrific. Totally recommend these folks."

"Chris did an excellent job! I got many different quotes through companies from Google and HomeAdvisor but felt Chris could do the job the best. He took out an old walkway, built a new walkway down a different area in my front yard then added a new retaining wall and granite steps from my driveway to my front door. He also put in a circle kit near my front door and put in a granite mailbox post. Everything came out perfect! Chris is a very hard worker, great communicator and I am very satisfied with the work he did. I would hire him again!"

"John's Landscaping Service replied right back to me when I left a message looking for a quote on service.  They said they would send someone out the next day to look at my yard and then prepare a quote.  The quote came back at $750, which included two clean-ups, one in early Nov. and one later in Nov.  The price was more than I was used to paying, but because I have a fairly large yard with dozens of trees surrounding it, I knew it would be a big effort.  I needed to have the work done, so I went with it.
I wish that I was able to talk to someone when they came out to look at the yard and give a quote.  First of all, I happened to come home when the first clean-up was being performed, and there was a section of my property that wasn't cleaned up.   I had to explain to the team where my property lines were because the property lines aren't necessarily symmetrical.  This could have been avoided if I met someone when they came by to make an estimate.  Second, both times the team performed the clean-up, they left a 4-5 ft strip of undisturbed leaves that runs along the border of my neighbor's driveway (so about 15-20 feet).  My neighbor has already cleaned his yard, so now there's a whole patch of stuff that has to be cleaned.  It's right on the property line, but 1) now it looks ridiculous, 2) I'm probably going to have to clean up the rest of it, and 3) if there was a question about where the property line was, or if they should go right to the driveway, why didn't someone ask?  When I mow the lawn in the summer, I don't leave a patch unmowed.  Ultimately, the service was fine, but I'm not sure if I will use John's Landscaping again due to price and some of these minor inconveniences.

"Dan, Louis & team did an amazing job on our new stairs and walkway. They were able to fix a drainage problem as well. We are super happy with the results and would recommend them again and again."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

During an asphalt paving project in Concord, professionals will closely evaluate drainage and soil conditions. This includes analyzing surface water flow, soil composition, and the existing gravel base to prevent issues from NH's freeze-thaw cycles. They also assess equipment access routes, the location of underground utilities, and how the new asphalt will connect to existing structures like your garage floor.

Helpful?

In Concord, NH, property features like steep grades and underlying granite ledge can complicate an asphalt paving project by making excavation difficult. Mature tree roots, historic stone walls, and narrow access in older neighborhoods also require careful navigation. Proximity to wetlands may introduce environmental regulations, while underground utility lines necessitate extra precautions and coordination with Dig Safe before any work begins.

Helpful?

In Concord, NH, driveways are the most common area needing asphalt paving, typically requiring resurfacing every 15-20 years. The region's freeze-thaw cycles and hilly terrain accelerate wear. Areas with poor drainage and south-facing driveways are especially vulnerable to cracking and deterioration. Long private roads and walkways are also frequently paved surfaces that require attention over time in this area.

Helpful?

A standard residential asphalt paving project in Concord, NH, typically takes two to four weeks from start to finish. This timeline includes planning, a few days for excavation and base preparation, and one day for paving. Keep in mind that spring weather can cause delays, and contractor availability may be limited during the peak season from July through August.

Helpful?

Yes, combining projects is a smart move for your Concord, NH home. It's efficient to handle drainage improvements, like installing French drains or culverts, at the same time as an asphalt paving project. You can also coordinate landscaping work, such as building retaining walls or running underground electrical for lighting, to save time and disruption during New Hampshire's limited construction season.
