"I met first with Scott to explain what I wanted and to get estimates. Then Jim, the master deck maker, took over the actual work. I found both men to be professional, easy to talk with, good listeners, and flexible with my unique situation. I love that Jim doesn't jump between multiple jobs but starts and finishes one job at a time, so I'm not left with something half done wondering when he'll be back. Jim is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work, and rightly so. Really, he IS a perfectionist. My deck is not the most "upscale" version they can do, yet I've received compliments from others who stain decks for a living (Jim does not stain decks). Jim went the extra mile for us when we really wanted cable railings but had a limited budget. He found a rail system we could afford. When it turned out that the hardware was very fussy and time-consuming to install he kept at it until it was right while keeping to the budget. We asked for a gate with ballusters instead of cable railing to save a little money. But Jim found a way to do it with the cables, knowing the gate would not otherwise look right. Our perfectionist was so right about that; and the collars at the bottom of the posts and the mitered corners of the stairs, and hand selection of the individual boards, and the railings, and the copper flashing, all add up to a deck built with care and pride, by Jim and by his loyal crew. I could not be happier!"

They also completely removed the old fencing and debris. They did this while having to put up with my difficult neighbors who were present during the installation. "Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and the newly configured fence looks great. 

I called 3 highly rated providers on Angie's List, Reliable Fence, Greg's Fence, and Cleveland Fence.  Phil from Greg's Fence promptly returned my call, promptly set up a time to come by and look at the fence, and after the meeting, promptly gave me a detailed quote -- and asked for a very competitive and reasonable $395, hundreds of dollars less than the other 2 quotes.  He alone saw that we could re-use appropriate sections from the existing fence and gate, which after all, were in good condition, and only the posts would have to be new, saving me money.  Summer is a busy time for fence installers, but Phil from Greg's Fence set up and stuck to a time schedule that worked for both of us, and he communicated clearly with me, letting me know in advance when he was coming out, when the work would be finished, and when he could meet with me so we could together see the work had been completed satisfactorily and he could be paid.  

I called Dig Safe to have them mark the property before Phil from Greg's Fence would start the work (maybe this was unnecessary as the fence posts don't go that deep, but better safe than sorry).  Once Dig Safe cleared the property, in a week, I called Greg's Fence to let them know I was ready to go.  They came out and carefully removed the fence section that needed to be removed, including the cement base under the posts, and competently installed the newly configured section where I wanted them to.  Phil correctly explained it would be better to relocate an existing post of the boundary fence so that the newly configured section would properly line up parallel with the front boundary of the property, and then competently relocated the post.  He put together the re-used fencing and gate sections and the new posts together so that the newly configured fence was solid, correctly installed, and easy to use.  He let me know ahead of time when he would be finished so that I could have an opportunity to review his work prior to paying him.  This whole process was easy, smooth, and satisfactory from start to finish.  The next time I have fence work that needs to be done, I will pick up the phone and call Greg's Fence again.  Thanks!"

"Contractor did a thoughtful and careful job. The work entailed removal of fairly extensive wallpaper, prep of all walls and ceilings, and painting of same. Contractor also sanded and refinished a large amount of hardwood and did some carpentry. All good. All thoughtful. All timely. All careful. We would use them again."

The carpentry team is well along with installation of cabinets, trim and baseboards and will build custom shelving. The quality of the work is excellent. They worked with me to choose trim compatible with original trim in my 1860 clapboard home and it looks great! The board and plaster team closed up the remaining spaces with smooth walls. The countertop team and painter have been scheduled.
