If you need repair at your home or business, we are the maitenance company for you. We get the job done, and done correctly. We are a small company dedicated to serving your maitenance needs. Before you call the "big boys", give us a call and let us save you money. We have been in the maitenance and repair field for 12 years and can perform most any maintenance work you need whether it be interior or exterior, residential or commercial.

"I had Tebco fencing come out to move my back fence line back 18ft, install a 4ft walk gate, and replace around 50 vinyl panels. They came out around September 10th, it took them a day and a half to finish. After they were done, I paid them, I also asked if they had put screws in each back corner of the fence so if the wind was really bad it wouldn't blow the panels out. They said they put screws in both back corners and told me if I saw anymore panels that needed replacing to let them know. I texted TJ Brown on September 13th to let him know that there were panels that got missed and needed to be replaced. I texted him again on September 20th, he finally texted me back to say he would come out ASAP to replace the rest of the panels for me. I told him I put blue painters tape on the panels that needed replacing. On September 27, October 5th, October 15th, October 23rd I texted him wanting to know when he'd be out, no answer. On October 25th I texted TJ Brown, he finally responded back saying, We are way behind bc of Covid in the family and then a death in the family. I have you on the list to go out and get you taken care of. That's the last time I've heard from him. I called TJ Brown on December 23rd, left a voice-mail explaining my frustration with him and his company. This was the day we had 50mph + wind gusts, blew out my two back corner panels of my vinyl fence....yep, they didn't put screws in the corners like I asked them too and said they did. It's now mid January 2023 and still no response from TJ Brown. I'm sure if it was a new customer wanting a fence installed he'd be right on calling that person back. Liars, p*** poor service, non stop excuses of why they can't come out, won't respond back....guess he got his work ethic from Joe Biden. Terrible company, won't ever do business with them again! I'm sure I won't ever get the panels that I paid $ for replaced."

Water can seep in, damaging the structure of the roof, walls and ceilings. Left in disrepair the cost of having damage repaired will only increase over time. Roofing is a profession that requires many skills including framing, construction, math and carpentry. When asking for a bid, you don’t want just a piece of paper with a number on it, you want an itemized list of what everything costs, including all labor and materials. The lowest bid is not always the best deal nor is the highest bid going to guarantee you’ll get the best service or materials, you need a balanced combination of price and service.

The owner, Steve Sterling, began in the 1980s, installing custom wood stoves. This and previous chimney sweeping experience resulted in the creation of Carolina Chimney in 1996. We are a Certified Chimney Sweep Company and work with licensed personnel. We offer great rebates for our Regency products and also offer coupons for our services throughout the year. Visit our website for more information.

"PLEASE BE WARNED. This was our experience: After many delays, Steve *began* the work about 4 months after the estimate was done. Months after the job was *started* it was *still* not finished. In our case, he would not follow-through & show up when he said he would (this happened repeatedly, sometimes with excuses like weather, and sometimes with the excuse that he had too many other jobs going on). When a week or two would pass and we would follow up with him, he responded to us like we were bothering him and we were in the wrong. Moreover, the total bill was well more than what we were quoted. Steve is a jovial individual, exceptionally talkative, knowledgeable in his trade but the utter lack of integrity as far as follow-through (doing what he says he will) has been an utter nightmare and a terrible lesson for us."

Chimney sweeping services FAQs

While it’s possible to sweep your own chimney, it’s usually not a good idea for two reasons. First, inexperienced DIYers are more likely to miss areas of the chimney, which still leaves the risk of house fire due to the remaining residue. Second, chimney sweeping seems like a simple process, but it’s highly dangerous. Soot and creosote are both carcinogenic and can cause breathing issues and lung damage. If you don’t take the same safety precautions that professionals do, you could be putting yourself at risk of serious bodily harm.

You should plan to ask your chimney sweeper questions about the cleaning process they intend to use, the project timeline, and more to get a sense of which professional is right for the job:

  • What is your process for cleaning chimneys?

  • How long will the process take?

  • Will you protect my floors from soot and debris?

  • Will you do a chimney inspection, too?

  • Do you have certification from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) or the National Fire Institute (NFI)?

  • Will you need access to my roof?

The average cost for a professional chimney cleaning is around $250, but prices range from $130 to $400 or more, depending on a few factors. Some things that have an impact on your total include the size of your chimney, the number of chimneys cleaned, and how accessible the chimneys are.

In some cases, you don’t need to do anything to prepare for chimney sweeping, but professionals always appreciate leaving the area clean and easy to access. As such, it’s a good idea to move fireplace accessories like screens and fire tending tools out of the way, and lay down tarps of drop cloths around your fireplace opening to help keep your floors clean. Laying down a plastic sheet under those cloths or tarps is a good idea if your fireplace is surrounded by carpeting, just to add extra protection. Finally, secure any pets or children away from the work area.

The National Fire Prevention Agency (NFPA) recommends chimney sweeping once per year as a means of avoiding house fires and massive property damage. Over time, creosote and soot build up in your chimney from burning wood and a lack of ventilation. These compounds are both highly flammable, which means a build-up of them inside your chimney puts you at an increased risk of house fire. Chimney sweeping removes any residue and helps reduce the risk of property damage and personal injury from fire.
