"After clearing the sewer line blockage, David tried to convince me the line had to be dug up and replaced.  When I told him that was done in 2011 (he did not work on that job) he backtracked and told me he needed to scope the line and dig up the yard to determine the problem. I told him I didn't think there was a problem with the sewer line, but do have a problem with the low pressure in the water lines, and I requested an estimate to replace them. He replied he had to consult with his manager and they would get back to me. Eventually the manager called me to review the work I requested, but the job description bore no resemblance to what I discussed with David. I gave her the correct information , and she told me she would "get back with me" for an estimate. This type of conversation went back and forth 2 more times and I never did get any firm answers regarding the job. I finally gave up trying to communicate with these people, but also questioned their ethics because of trying to redo the sewer line. I don't trust them any more."

"David was very helpful. He came and looked at what I needed done and he told me where to hook into the main water system which was readily accessible and told me what I needed to complete the job. I have done some pluming tasks so this was a project I felt very comfortable in doing myself. He saved me a lot of $$$. I will be using his service in the future. Thank you David for your assistance."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

If your gas water heater is over 20 years old, it should be replaced. Gas water heaters can last up to 12 years and while they can exceed this expectancy if well-maintained, a heater that's 20 years old would require replacement. The heater is unlikely to run as efficiently as a new model and could be more expensive to do so.

Excessive pressure (above 80 psi) puts too much stress on plumbing pipes, joints, and fixtures. This can lead to leaks and burst pipes. Plus, it shortens the lifespan of appliances, can waste water, and can raise your utility bills. High water pressure might feel like a gift, but it’s actually a silent threat to plumbing.

Choosing between an electric water heater vs. a gas water heater comes down to personal preference. Overall, electric heaters are more energy efficient than their gas competitors. They’re also quieter to operate, take up less room, and don’t come with a risk of gas leaks.

The downside is that electric water heaters cost more to operate than gas. They might also struggle to heat water fast enough for households that use large amounts of hot water. Lastly, a power outage could cause your electric water heater to stop working, whereas gas water heaters may still function.

Heat pump water heaters, also known as hybrid water heaters, are the most efficient types of water heaters—both in terms of carbon emission and energy efficiency. This type of water heater utilizes as little as half of the energy of a traditional water heater while releasing no direct emissions. Tankless water heaters are also extremely efficient, although slightly less so than hybrid heaters.

Electric water heaters do not need an attached vent, but the location of the water heater should allow for roughly 12 inches of clearance around it. This allows cool air to flow around the appliance and allows repair technicians to work on its components safely. The exact amount of clearance space required depends on your local building codes.
