"Construction-USA LLC exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The team was extremely professional, punctual, and communicated clearly throughout the entire renovation process. They handled multiple rooms in my home and the quality of the work was outstanding. Every detail was completed with care, and they made sure everything was done exactly how we wanted it. What really stood out was their reliability and professionalism. They kept the project on schedule, respected our home, and were always willing to answer questions or make adjustments when needed. The craftsmanship and attention to detail truly show in the finished results. I would highly recommend Construction-USA LLC to anyone looking for a trustworthy and skilled contractor. "Ken was great to work with. He’s very responsive and wants to make it as easy as he can for the homeowner. I do NOT like how the company does their pricing. They do not give you a set estimate for the project. They’d need to give me a fixed estimate and do change orders like a normal contractor or we would not hire them again. If they changed that we’d hire Ken again."

"Bill and Billy were very professional and efficient with the projects I had at my home. They built me and 2 car garage and deck off the back of my house. Pricing was very fair and the quality of their work was top notch. They're family owned and operated. I highly recommend them as a general contractor and builder for any home projects."

"Alexei was the installer. He was on time, very professional, explained the process and cleaned up when the job was completed. Very personable. My project was the replacement install of an attic step ladder. Would recommend him to my family and neighbors."

"Randy and his crew did an excellent job on our master shower and bathroom floor. Randy helped pick out the tile that achieved the finished product we were looking for. They finished the job in a timely fashion and were friendly and professional. Would highly recommend Harken for home remodels."

"We hired Elaineâ s Construction and Design to renovate and update our new home. The home was built in the 80s and needed a major update. Elaineâ s helped us make our vision come to fruition. The bedrooms had 4 layers of wallpaper and there was popcorn ceiling in the whole house. The kitchen was completely closed off and had tile floors. Thanks to Glennâ s expertise and Elaineâ s helpful design tips we have a beautiful new home. All of the sub contractors they used were masters of their craft and even our smallest requests were met. If we were not happy with something they immediately made changes to accommodate us. This was a major project but they got it done in our time frame. We have a gorgeous new home that we will enjoy for years! Thanks To Elaineâ sâ Construction and Design for a great job!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

Stick frames, metal frames, or prefabricated concrete frames are included in framing a house, along with creating the framework and space for windows, doors, and entryways. Other aspects of developing a home—like drywall, insulation, windows, doors, and more—are not included in the cost to frame a house.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

Bow windows need support because they are large and extend out from the exterior wall of the home. Bow windows may extend 1 foot to several feet from the outside of the home, so you’ll need to provide additional support to handle this weight. A window contractor will be able to provide the proper amount of support for your new bow window.
