"Brad knows his products and is very passionate about them. He believes in the items that he sells, and for good reason. We bought several items from him and have been nothing but happy with them. Our vintage home smells SO FRESH! We'd had mold years earlier and had to go through remediation. I developed mold-induced asthma, which was having a very negative impact on my quality of life. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs in the house, which creates a LOT of dust. Even though we vacuum dauly and shampoo the carpets every month, the fur is ever-present. Additionally, we have chickens that live outside, but our smaller breeds have to come into our mud room during the winter. Birds are very dusty! I am also an opera singer, but my asthma had gotten so bad that I was actually getting dizzy while trying to practice! These air scrubbers make a noticeably IMMEDIATE difference and are so easy to maintain! They're quiet too. I can breathe again with NO INHALERS OR MEDS!"

"I was referred to American Water Damage by a plumber with another company who came to my home to service a major water leak. American Water Damage has just begun the process, but so far I have been having a pleasant experience. The office personnel was very friendly and went above and beyond to schedule my appointment that same day. Jeff, project manager, came out a couple of hours later for the free consultation. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and showed great concern for my issue. A day later, Walter, remediation technician, came to assess the damage and met with my insurance adjuster. I was very impressed with both of their knowledge, concern and thoroughness. Walter assured me that his team could start the mitigation process the next day, and he was a man of his word. His fantastic team, Malik, Anavie and Joey, arrived at my home early that next morning. The minute they entered my home, they went to work. Malik, the lead, assessed the situation, explained to me what the team was going to do, and instructed Anavie and Joey where to start. They worked diligently for hours only taking a few minutes for lunch. All of them were friendly, professional, thorough and hard working. From what I can tell, they did excellent work in demolishing and treating the disaster area. They also cleaned up the area to perfection. We are only on phase one of my process, and I am extremely satisfied thus far, especially with water mitigation. My fingers are crossed that the repair process will go as smoothly. If so, I will be writing another awesome review to recommend this company. Keep up the great work and may God continue to bless your establishment!"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Slime mold isn’t toxic to your dog, even if they eat it. Toxicity and comfort are two different things, and if you notice your dog eating slime mold, you should stop them, but not worry too much. Expect a period of gastrointestinal distress, and possibly some other complications, but your dog should be ok within a few days.

Yes, mold can grow on nonporous surfaces. Mold is extremely resilient and can survive just about anywhere. However, mold will not grow as quickly on a nonporous surface as on a porous one. Additionally, the nonporous nature makes it easier to remove. Keep the countertop clean and properly maintained, and you shouldn’t experience mold growth.

Powdery mildew is exactly like it sounds—a widespread mold that looks like baking soda or talcum powder. It’s usually seen on plants and spread in warm climates, which is why many people first discover this issue in their home greenhouse. Over time, plants have become resistant, but if you see it spreading, baking soda and water can eliminate many cases. Otherwise, consider neem oil or fungicide.

To remove mold from fabric that’s part of your wood furniture, the best option is to take the fabric off and place it in the washing machine. If you cannot take the fabric off, it helps to move the furniture out into the sun. Use a high-quality vacuum to remove any mold spores that are present. You can try spraying the mold with a 50/50 vinegar-water mixture. Hydrogen peroxide is also a possibility for removing mold from fabric, but it could damage certain types of fabric.

Having a dry house can be unhealthy for you and the home. Excessive dryness can lead to respiratory issues, dry skin, dry or sore throats, and other problems. Additionally, any wooden furniture and the home's structure and floors can suffer from cracking and shrinking under dry indoor air conditions, leading to gaps and splits.
