"Brad knows his products and is very passionate about them. He believes in the items that he sells, and for good reason. We bought several items from him and have been nothing but happy with them. Our vintage home smells SO FRESH! We'd had mold years earlier and had to go through remediation. I developed mold-induced asthma, which was having a very negative impact on my quality of life. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs in the house, which creates a LOT of dust. Even though we vacuum dauly and shampoo the carpets every month, the fur is ever-present. Additionally, we have chickens that live outside, but our smaller breeds have to come into our mud room during the winter. Birds are very dusty! I am also an opera singer, but my asthma had gotten so bad that I was actually getting dizzy while trying to practice! These air scrubbers make a noticeably IMMEDIATE difference and are so easy to maintain! They're quiet too. I can breathe again with NO INHALERS OR MEDS!"

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold is not guaranteed to grow on wet drywall, but the risk increases significantly the longer the material remains wet. Mold and mildew can begin to grow in as little as 24 to 48 hours, especially in optimal conditions, which include moist, dark places with temperatures between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. If the drywall is too wet to dry within that timeframe, mold can grow and spread. In any instance of water damage, it is wise to get a mold inspection to be certain that none has taken up residence in your home.

It is not advisable to shower in a bathroom contaminated with black mold due to the potential health hazards it poses. Inhaling mold spores during showering can trigger allergic reactions, respiratory issues, and skin irritations, especially for individuals with pre-existing allergies or respiratory conditions. Prolonged exposure to black mold can result in severe health complications. It is crucial to eliminate any black mold problems in your bathroom before continuing with showering to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Vermiculite insulation can be hazardous if it contains asbestos. Asbestos fibers, when released into the air and inhaled, can pose significant health risks. The EPA recommends leaving vermiculite insulation undisturbed to avoid potential exposure. It is crucial to have vermiculite insulation tested by a certified professional to determine if it contains asbestos. If asbestos is present, proper precautions should be taken, including containment or removal by licensed abatement professionals.

You might be wondering, “Is laminate flooring toxic?” The product does contain formaldehyde, which is found in the resins used to bind the wood fibers together. But the chance of overexposure and adverse reactions, such as allergy- or asthma-like symptoms, is low unless you are exposed to formaldehyde in other places, i.e., if you work with formaldehyde regularly outside the home. Keep in mind, too, that many household products have the potential to pose a health hazard, such as cleaning products.

Yes. Over time, hidden moisture from a leak in your bathroom may lead to black mold, requiring a mold remediation company’s services and the removal of large wall sections, which can be costly. For example, 100 square feet of drywall can cost as much as $400 to replace, while mold remediation can run anywhere from $500 to $3,000.
