"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

"Scott McCloskey and his team at Mount Valley Foundation Services provided a great crawl space repair quote for some of our existing termite and moisture damage and settlement remediations. Best work proposal I have received. Scott went to extra lengths to make sure we were confident in the repairs and spent a lot of time fielding our questions."

"Certainly the best of 3 I tried. All charged a diagnostic fee but Bullman was the only one worth it. Greg is a Knowledgable professional that actually made sense! Explained it all in a way even I understood. Like a breath of fresh air after the previous two companies. Will hire again for sure!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

You must hire licensed contractors for permitted plumbing work in Sylva. Master plumbers handle permits and run businesses, while journeyman plumbers work under their strict supervision. Rural properties require certified specialists for well pumps and septic systems, as standard plumbers do not handle these components. Finally, local county inspectors oversee the permit process and verify all work meets current codes.

Helpful?

High annual rainfall and heavy humidity in Sylva accelerate pipe corrosion and cause condensation issues in unventilated crawl spaces. Freezing winter temperatures create a severe risk of burst pipes, making proper insulation absolutely essential. Additionally, properties located near the Tuckasegee River require strict backflow prevention measures during plumbing upgrades to protect against severe flooding and dangerous water intrusion.

Helpful?

Upgrading your home plumbing ensures compatibility with the local municipal water system, reducing strain on your fixtures. In Sylva, updating older pipes prevents emergency repairs and reduces the risk of sewage backflow during high-water events near the Tuckasegee River. Additionally, installing low-flow fixtures supports local water conservation efforts and boosts your property value in this competitive mountain market.

Helpful?

Homeowners often skip the required permit process for plumbing, creating major complications during a future resale. In rural NC, adding new bathrooms without consulting a septic professional overloads existing waste systems. Another serious mistake involves failing to insulate pipes in unheated crawl spaces against freezing mountain temperatures. Attempting unpermitted DIY repairs on well systems introduces dangerous contamination into your drinking water.

Helpful?

Plumbing changes directly impact other areas of your home. In NC, modifying pipes in humid crawl spaces compromises vapor barriers and lowers your HVAC efficiency. Rerouting lines near electrical panels requires a licensed electrician to prevent serious safety hazards. For homes on sloped lots, running new drain lines demands a strict structural assessment to protect your foundation from damage.
