"Larry Wallace from Carolina Tree Service has my highest recommendation. He and his son removed seven trees from around my house and garage. Nothing was damaged, and he cleaned up the area perfectly afterward. He tool the initiative to call me multiple times to arrange the service, and arrived promptly as a true professional should. He was extremely polite, especially to my young children (my little girl was not happy he had to cut down her swing tree). All in all, I would certainly encourage anyone looking for tree removal service to call up Larry. -Fred Bowman"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

After completing a tree service project in Roxboro, promptly clear debris and consider stump grinding to prevent regrowth. Monitor treated trees for signs of stress or disease, and avoid fertilizing immediately after major pruning. Keep records of all work for insurance purposes. Plan for replacement planting with native species, and schedule a follow-up inspection within a year to ensure your trees remain healthy and stable.

Helpful?

In Roxboro, basic tree trimming takes a few hours for small trees and up to two days for large ones. Tree removal can range from several hours to a few days, depending on size and complexity. Stump grinding usually takes under four hours per stump. Emergency storm cleanup may require several days, especially after severe weather, and scheduling can be longer during peak spring and fall seasons.

Helpful?

Before starting a tree service project in Roxboro, review local tree ordinances and confirm if removal permits are needed, especially for large trees. Always call 811 to have underground utilities marked, and plan work for late fall through early spring to avoid bird nesting season. Verify your contractor’s insurance coverage and get several quotes to compare services. Confirm property boundaries to prevent disputes with neighbors.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Roxboro should start with a safety assessment, removing dead or storm-damaged branches and addressing any trees leaning toward structures or power lines. Clearing branches from utility lines and driveways improves safety and access. It’s also wise to evaluate trees near the foundation and schedule an annual tree health inspection. Preventive care, like pest management and proper fertilization, helps protect your landscape investment.

Helpful?

In Roxboro, common mistakes include pruning oaks during the growing season, which can increase disease risk, and attempting DIY removal near power lines. Homeowners sometimes skip checking for required permits or ignore property boundaries, leading to disputes. Hiring uninsured or unqualified contractors is another pitfall. Rushing projects during storm season or not considering local weather patterns can also cause unexpected delays or hazards.
