"They considered my job an emergency because the tree was resting on my fence and storage building. They gave me a quote on one day and was able to get the job done the very next day. They were not pushy at all and were very professional and communicated to let me know that they actually started early. When the job was completed it they sent me pictures. The tree was Cedar so there were lots of branches and needles. My yard was SO clean when they finished, you couldn't even tell what kind of tree was cleared and that was ever a tree on the fence or storage building. I never expected that my yard would be so cleared, this was not an easy job but they got it done quickly and answered any questions I had. I recommend them with no reservations."

"Vincent and his crew did an amazing job. They worked quickly, dilligently, safetly and above all expertly. They checked in numerous times throughout the project to assure my satisfaction with each tree. I was most impressed by the clean up, they left my yard better than it was when they arrived. I was thoroughly impressed and have already recommended them to neighbors who asked about the work."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The average lifespan of an oak tree is 100 to 300 years, so long as it isn’t impacted by diseases like sudden oak death. Some species will last shorter or longer, depending on where you live.

Whether you should remove the roots of a dead tree depends on whether they’re damaging nearby areas. For instance, if the roots continue to grow near sidewalks, driveways, or the foundation of your home, they can cause damage. If you want to plant something else in that spot, removing the roots can make it easier for the new tree or plant to grow.

It can be bad to leave a dead stump in the ground. A stump becomes a hefty piece of dead wood in time and eventually (especially with the help of rain) starts to rot. That makes it a locus point for diseases and pesky insects, as well as a bit of an eyesore. It’s best to remove a tree stump completely before it starts to decay, especially before it starts to fall apart. If the tree was removed because of disease, it’s even more important to fully remove the stump if possible.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

Tree removal can be quite expensive, especially for larger projects, but you can use the following tips to help keep costs down:

  • Do the yard cleanup afterward yourself

  • Choose to leave the logs on your property and split them yourself

  • Opt to leave the stump in the ground and tackle stump grinding yourself

  • Pull permits for tree removal, if necessary, to avoid fines

  • Pay to have multiple trees removed at once

  • Remove tree in the late winter or early spring during off-season
