Customers say: Quick response

"Chris showed up as requested and completed the install of a 220 service on the side of my garage in preparation of installation of a heat pump. He and his assistant had to crawl through the attic and cut a new entryway over the garage in order to run the electric lines from one end of the house to the other. All the lines were secured to that insulation and drywall will cover them up. The outside looks neat. I would hire again. Not sure how his prices compare to others."

"Amazingly well. Not only did they followed my requests to text instead of callin ( because I work from home), but both Dan and Mike were very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and kind. They immediately addressed my original issue, gave me estimates for other tasks, talked about finance opportunities, and were very quick in delivering the best service ever!! Will definitely contact them in the future! Thanks to both of you!"

Flat Rate Services Charlotte has been in business since 2015. We services all of Charlotte and the Charlotte metro areas. I have over 40 years experience in the plumbing, electric & remodeling trades. I pride myself on doing what is best for my customer always putting my customers before profits. I understand that my customers work hard for their money so I do everything possible to help them get the best finished job for their dollar. That is the reason I started the Flat Rate business model. If you require a standard Plumbing, electrical, appliance or audio/video installation you always know exactly what it's going to cost. You will never hear that Joe down the street had the same work done for $100 less because he paid the same reasonable flat rate. There have been many other that have popped up since 2015 trying to copy my flat rate model but nobody does it with the quality & pricing that I offer. If you have me do your job you can sleep well knowing that you got the best quality work for your money

"Great support by Cape Fear Electric. Called me late on Thursday and showed up on time early Friday. Got all done in 1 day. They do charge $79 to come up but I'd rather have experts do this and have it done right. They even replaced the foam insulation they had to remove to move my outlets. Great - quick service. Reasonable prices."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You shouldn’t hook up a solar panel directly to a battery. That can damage the solar battery and your appliances over time. Instead, install a charge controller between your solar panel and solar battery. Charge controllers regulate voltage, prevent overcharging, and minimize the amount of electrical current to protect your battery from voltage spikes.

Baking soda is an effective fire reduction method. However, flour and baking powder are very dangerous around flames. Flour is flammable and it can also conduct electricity. The combination can cause serious injury from electrical shock and worsen the situation by adding fuel to the fire. Baking powder is also not an option as it's also highly flammable.

When it’s time to replace an old or broken pool light, you can hire an electrician near you to get the job done. Working with an electrician is helpful for pool light replacements, especially if you need to repair or update any existing wiring or install new wiring for additional pool lights.

The best place to put an electrical outlet depends on your needs. A good rule of thumb is to install outlets every 6 feet in large rooms. Hallways over 10 feet long need one electrical outlet minimum.

If you find yourself needing extra plug-ins for all of your gadgets, you may want to increase the number of electrical outlets in your room. When adding outlets, keep in mind that older homes could have outdated electrical panels. In these cases, you may need a pro to upgrade you from 100-amp to 200-amp service before increasing the power load.

Yes, most electric heated bathroom floor systems require a dedicated GFCI-protected circuit to ensure safety and proper function. An electrician may need to upgrade your panel or run new wiring, which can increase installation costs. Always check local building codes and manufacturer recommendations before installation to ensure a safe and compliant setup.
