Small jobs welcome

"Nathan did an excellent job redoing my deck and porch. In addition, he painted all my shutters. He was thorough and responsible during power washing, repairs and painting. He did all work while we were away and communicated very well and provided many photos of his work. He discovered a propane gas leak and advised me right away as well as going back to shut the propane off. I highly recommend Nathan!"

"We were very pleased with the excellent and professional job re-staining our log home. Dario and his crew were diligent, reliable, punctual and very easy to work with. They were extremely hard working and finished our house before a visit by our relatives. We love the way our log home looks now !! We would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors and definitely use them again."

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

"Really impressive work ethic. Mauricio and his father brought a team who worked intensely alongside them and did quality work. They were interested in impressing us with their attention to detail. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard and efficiently and exceeded my expectations over the course of this three day project of power washing, painting and sealing our deck and boathouse. Very fair pricing. Highly recommend them."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

Many decking oils can help slow down algae growth, but they don't completely stop it. These oils work by sealing the wood, which reduces moisture and, therefore, algae growth. Some decking oils also help protect against UV damage, but they need to be reapplied according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the decking stays protected.

Yes, it is generally a very good idea to seal your deck after pressure washing. Power washing removes not only dirt and debris but also a thin layer of wood, leaving the surface exposed and more susceptible to weathering. Sealing is almost always needed after this process. After a general cleaning, sealing isn't automatically necessary if the existing sealant is still intact. You can test the surface by placing a few drops of water on it. If the water beads up, the sealant is working. If it soaks into the wood, it's time to apply a new sealant. If it has been a few years, it's wise to remove the old sealant, wash the deck, and reseal for maximum protection.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

If you don’t treat a cedar fence, it will turn from reddish brown to gray over time. You can keep the cedar from graying and retain its attractive, deep red color by sealing your cedar fence with a stain that keeps the wood’s oils in and serves as a barrier against the sun’s UV rays.
