"Overall very pleased. Roger was the first to respond to my request for service. He was also quickly able to schedule time to asses my hot tub repair. He was generous in sharing his knowledge and recommending actions and equipment for good maintenance. He sent another person, Preston to install the new part. Preston also went out of his way and repaired the door to the cabinet of the hot tub."

"Moving to a new town always comes with challenges—finding reliable doctors, a good hair salon, and especially trustworthy contractors. When something urgent comes up, like needing a plumber or electrician, you don’t always have the luxury of spending hours researching your options. I was fortunate to be referred to Preston through my realtor, and I truly couldn’t be more grateful. From day one, Preston has gone above and beyond in every way. He is responsive, dependable, and incredibly knowledgeable—someone who clearly takes pride in doing things right. What really sets Preston apart is how easy he is to work with. He’s understanding, communicates clearly, and consistently follows through. It’s rare to find someone you can trust so completely, and over time, he’s come to feel more like family than just a contractor. I highly recommend Preston for any of your home needs. You’ll be in great hands."

"The purchase process took several months as I took the opportunity to educate myself about the current technologies. Tri-City, via Synergy in Ballantyne, was extremely helpful and provided a no-pressure experience. I spoke to several vendors and received quotes from five. All of the quotes were higher than my final cost. The installation process was not painless as there were some issues with equipment failure. However, the vendor did their level best to minimize the impact upon me and made everything right without complaint."

"I had the occasion to call Mr. "Noel" to do some grout work that I seemed to not be able to get anyone to come out and complete before I had a new shower door installed. When I first contacted him it was thought that he was busy for far beyond when I needed the completed, but he found a time, was punctual and did the best job that he could with the prior tile work, he was not completely happy with his job and offered to come back to do a complete removal of the shower base and put in new tile at a reduced rate. Noel was very personable and as most Englishmen (including myself) talkative. I am happy with the work and would recommend him. I have some additional work that I may need done in the near future and will consider calling Mr. Fludgate.

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering how to find a leak in an aboveground pool, the process is the same as it is for an in-ground pool. Note that the vinyl liner in aboveground pools is fairly thin, so sharp objects easily puncture it. Additionally, the liner can wear down after constant exposure to pool chemicals, especially when chlorine levels are higher than they should be. For these reasons, small holes in the vinyl liner often cause leaks, but you can easily detect them with the dye test.

Water only runs through a pool heater when not in use if the heater doesn’t have a bypass system. A bypass system stops the flow of water through the heater when not in use. If you don’t have one, then yes, water will still run through the pool heater even when not in use. Not having a bypass system may increase the effects of wear and tear on your pool heater or disrupt the water’s chemical balance.

The generator in your saltwater pool conversion kit transforms sodium chloride—the same salt as table salt—into chlorine. A process called electrolysis sends electricity through the water to interact with the chlorine ion. This ultimately creates the chlorine that keeps your pool safe and clean. The cell in your saltwater chlorine generator is the part that converts the salt into chlorine.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

Technically, you can fill in a pool yourself—with the caveat that filling in a pool requires the ability to drain the pool properly and move a substantial amount of dirt, which aren’t beginner DIY skills. If you want to fill in a pool, you’re better off hiring a local pool removal professional.
