"Seems some of the review is a little mis-leading. I pressure washed, sanded and then I sprayed a deck with stain. The customer ran out of stain leaving the stairs not stained. Due to weather etc and the time of year we had to wait to return to finish which the customer does NOT state. I did come back and finish the stairs that were not stained. It was in the spring .Then the customer stated she wanted wanted the deck stained again !!!!!!!! I did try to stain another area but it just looked the same I told the customer this so staining again would not have made the deck look different. I did have an employee who put in drywall in an outside shed and insulation. The drywall was not correct on to the studs. The insulation was back to front. That job was 6 hours so I'm not sure where the $1100 comes from ??? There were 2 of us working for a day and I only charged for one person. All materials could be re-used e.g drywall and insulation. We did play phone tag for a while and the weather again did not help me. But to stain the whole deck again why ??? I also built steps to the shed at the customers request. No mention of this job. The employee no longer works for me and Yes I should have checked. My fault on that job. Its so easy to leave a negative review for anyone and leave out a few facts. However I do need to improve my communication and have someone who schedules my work now."
"I will of course honor ant hours owed, Its my promise"
"This couple are kind, generous and a pleasure to work with. They made me most welcome and even gave me lunch and breakfast. Thank you so much The heat outside made it a day and a half job and they worked with me on that schedule. I wish all customers were as nice."
"Great customer who just let me get on with the job. We got the perfect result. Thanks"
"I always work hard and give value for money. Many thanks and good luck with the art"
"This review is fiction I do not spend one hour on a deal and leave 2 hours to do nothing"

Hired Noel to refinish walls in master bathroom and paint, replace crown molding and baseboard. The job entailed only part of the bathroom where a shower had been replaced. He was squeezing me in when he could because he was overbooked and I was willing to work with him. His first attempt...the walls were not smooth and the paint bubbled. Noel said he would come back and do over. Second attempt...the same thing. I complained not only about the poor workmanship, but the waste of time and paint after his two attempts. When trying to force in a baseboard, a tile was cracked and another tile popped out. He swore he did not crack the tile, but it was not cracked before. The base board he attempted to install even cracked from jamming it in and he just filled it with putty. Meanwhile, by forcing the baseboard in the small space, one of the tiles popped out. Again, he denied doing it, but it was so very obvious what caused the damage. Noel did offer to fix, but after many failed attempts and damage happening as a result of his work, I declined. No money was paid, however, now I have to hire a tile guy to repair tiles and still have to have the original work done.
"I have to state this is the worst customer I have the mis-pleasure to meet. If a business could take out a dispute on a customer this would be the one. Claimed I cracked a tile when I did not. I worked 2 full Saturdays for not one penny in return. I squeezed her in is a joke. I worked two Saturday's for nothing The customer was always informed of the work that need to be re-finished. She smiled and it was ok then emailed me saying all was wrong. I installed crown molding and have not seen a penny in return for my work Now she leaves a F review in return. When Im wrong I say so. But this takes the cake. Contractors take note"
"Sorry member I am fully booked for the next 5 weeks and tried to fit you in but there was no way. Sorry."
"Thank you we always try to please the customer"
The door was NOT installed properly. The problems:
- Broke the wires on door alarm contacts during removal of old door and left alarm not working.
- Door and frame were not installed level or plumb.
- Did not use shims; instead just screwed through the jamb so door frame was stretched and bowed. (I supplied two packs of shims that were not used.)
- Installed a 2x4 under the brick mould but nothing under the threshold. It was not supported and would bend when stepped on.
- Door latch strike plates not installed correctly so door did not seal against weather stripping. (Lots of air leakage around the door.)
- No insulation or caulking used between jamb and studs to seal out air. (I provided a can of foam insulation that went unused.)
- Used old casing so miters did not match. (I had provided new casing.)
The door has since been removed and reinstalled correctly by someone else.
We purchased two of the big deal coupons ? one for us for the door installation and a second as a gift. We are requesting a FULL refund of BOTH the deal coupons for a total refund of $498. Unfortunately we will have to eat the additional cost of time, labor and materials for reinstallation.
Also, to address my ratings above:
Price: We purchased an 8 hour coupon. He was here for only 4 or 5 hours.
Quality: Well... see above.
Responsiveness / Punctuality: it took multiple phone calls and email to finally get him scheduled.
Professionalism: He was sick when he came here and should not have been working that day.
"I worked for 4 hours to fit a door that was 1.75 inches to short IN LENGTH. This was seen by the member. I told them what I planned to do They offered insulation but there was no room between the door frame and the wall. They offered shims which were no good as the sides were tight and the length way to short I said I would return to fix the trim inside as I did not have my nail gun or compressor I thought I had fixed the alarm with solder that was provided. I ad no way to test this I screwed the door to the wall frame as anyone would. They called me with a very angry tone from both members who did not like what I had done They complained that the door was not sealed. ( there front door would not stay shut this was a new fir by someone else ) I offered to return the next day and fix anything they did not like this was REFUSED. Then they said they wanted a new door. Then suddenly the doors ok and has been re-fitted?? They then said they wanted refunds on the 2 deals they had purchased. I contacted April my big deal manager who waited 2 days to inform me the customer could have their refunds. She asked me to redeem one voucher. I said I was not happy with that as I wanted the customer to have a full refund. She also offered to credit me for the 4 hours worked. Again I refused as I wanted the member to have a full refund. Now I find that April was mistaken and since work was started I would have to repay the full $249 even though I worked 4 hours. I do not have $249 to repay the member so its a stalemate. Now I find its pending with THREATS of the penalty box!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to wonder if the staff at Angie's list have any idea what is going on. No wonder the business owner is frustrated I have found this whole issue to be FRUSTRATING WORRYING A STRAIN ON ME AND MY BUSINESS and FAMILY WRONG ADVIDCE FROM ANGIE'S LIST EMPLOYEES WHOM I TRUSTED A REVIEW THAT CLAIMS I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT I AM DOING."
