"I called this morning around 8:00 am, and a friendly woman named Tonya answered my call. (Several other places I called only had voice mails. I really appreciated being able to speak to someone right away about my issue.) She arranged to have a technician at my house within two hours. Doug, the technician called to let me know he was on his way, and he arrived promptly. He did a thorough check of the AC unit, and he explained everything he was doing to get it back up and running. He discovered that when the unit was first installed eleven years ago, a filter was left in the unit that should not have been left in it. It is in our attic crawl space, and no one has ever checked it, including several other AC service workers who have checked this unit in the past. That filter looked like a piece of cardboard, it was so dirty. Doug got everything back up and running. He was very professional and very friendly. I highly recommend this company. Thanks for the excellent service."

"

Robert is a miracle worker. He took on a difficult job. He did the kind of job that no one wanted, He had to redo a previous contractor's nightmare install and he had to do all the attic ductwork work during a heat wave. Through it all Robert had a great work ethic, he was dependable, creative, and trustworthy. He made sure everything was to code and would pass inspections. We are thankful to Robert for all the hard work he put in. We now have a functioning HVAC system for both levels and it we feel like we can relax knowing everything is running as it should. We will not work with anyone else!

"Josh was able to come out same day, I have an older unit requiring r22 that he didn’t have on his truck, but he was back the next morning with it. Replaced the fan motor on one unit and charged both. Installed 2 nest thermostats and setup. Josh was great to work with and I have a happy family again! He did mention due to the age of units they will need to be replaced, however true, I felt it was mentioned a little much, but his quality of work outweighs the sales suggestions."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Professionals can recommend efficient layouts or appliances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Depending on the size of your home and system, as well as any upgrades or add-ons you choose, it may take between three and five days to completely replace an existing HVAC system from start to finish. Your contractor should be able to give you an estimate before they begin the actual replacement.

There are several types of home radiators, and the most common are steam heat radiators, electric radiators, and dual-fuel radiators. Steam heat radiators are connected to a boiler. Electric radiators can operate without being connected to anything else—they just need an electrical outlet. If you have a dual-fuel radiator, you’ll see a valve at the bottom of the system with a wire coming out of it and going into a wall. These are often your towel radiators in the bathroom. The type of radiator you have will impact how you turn it on.

A home radiator works by using radiation and convection to transfer heat throughout your home. Electric radiators use metal to conduct heat and warm the air, which then rises to warm the room. Steam and hot water radiators work with a boiler and piping system to pump thermal energy throughout the home. Hot water radiators use a boiler to heat the water before circulating it to the radiator, while steam heating radiator systems convert the heated water to steam before circulating it out. When the water or steam cools, it travels back to the boiler to be heated again.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.
