"I am cutting my cable TV. Chris was very helpful. He checked to see if I could use my existing old antenna before he installed a new HD antenna. Checked the signal strength on all local channels. The clarity is great & full HD. Very satisfied"

"He was fast. He called one day then came the next to give a quote and then the 3rd day did an excellent job. He ibrought and installed an attic ladder. It was done beautifully and looks like it came with the house. He volunteered to paint the ladder door and it looks wonderful. I definantely will be hiring him for future projects and will tell others about him. I highly recommend him!!!!"

"Neil (and his son) did a very professional job installing Ethernet/TV Cabling throughout the house. They worked with me on several proposal modification to help me understand the end objective of not just what I wanted but what I needed to make things work seamless together. Work was started and completed on time as promised, all areas of install were clean and neat. Everything worked as advertised with no issues. Even my wife was pleased and that says a lot!"

Tv Antenna Installation questions, answered by experts

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.

Outdoor TV antennas are often worth it, as the signals broadcast in your area are always stronger outside. If you have an indoor antenna that isn’t performing well, call a TV antenna installation company to come out and use a signal checker to see if a stronger signal is available on your roof, as it often will be. Outdoor antennas require longer cables, which can decrease the quality of the picture, but a professional should be able to find a position where cable length is minimized, and the available signal is strongest for ideal performance.

Coax cable connects to your television, modem, or cable box. Look for a female coax connection on these devices. Your coax cable will connect to any of these. The other end of the wire runs to the service connection coming into the house.

Costs range from $100 to $500, depending on the issue, parts needed, and labor.

If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.

  • Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.

  • Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..

  • Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.
