"Sean made custom roll out shelving to install in my current cabinet and added supports to sure up the small cabinet pantry to ensure it would not separate, creating issues with new slide out wood shelving he made to fit my cabinet. It was exactly what I wanted, he designed and made it happen! 100 percent satisfied. I would definitely hire again for future projects."

Small jobs welcome

"I could not have picked a better company. My wife passed unexpectedly and I no longer wanted to stay in our home. As I was getting ready to put it on the market I contacted JLP to refinish some kitchen cabinets as well as remove wall paper and repaint two bathrooms and kitchen along with painting several other rooms. They were very considerate to me during this time not only professionally but personally as well. They did an outstanding job. I put the house on the market in April and had it sold in May. I am positive that their work helped sell the home. I could not ask for a better example of high quality work with a personal touch at an affordable price. I would absolutely hire them again and highly recommend them."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

On average, it costs about 30% to 50% less to reface than to replace custom or semi-custom cabinets. However, the most affordable cabinet replacement projects tend to cost about the same amount as the average cabinet refacing project. These are replacement projects that involve pre-made stock cabinet styles rather than custom designs.

Since there are many methods of repairing your cabinets, including refacing and refinishing, it can be tricky to know when to replace or fix your existing cabinets. Generally, it’s best to repair your existing cabinets when the cabinet boxes are in good condition. Additionally, this option is best when you’re being budget-friendly or remodeling.

Replacing your cabinets is best when you’re changing the layout of the room or when the cabinet boxes are in rough shape. It’s also best to replace your cabinets if you need more storage space, as this will remove the existing cabinets for new ones.

The vinyl finish on thermofoil cabinets makes them durable and scratch-resistant, especially compared to painted cabinets. However, if they do get deep scratches, it can be challenging to fix, and you may be unable to repair them.

While it’s possible to reface or refinish kitchen cabinets yourself, it requires substantial time, money, and sweat equity. In particular, cabinet refacing requires many tools and materials, costing you between $1,645 and $6,570, depending on what you already own. Besides that, this is a project that shows imperfections easily. If carpentry isn't your strong suit, hiring a cabinet professional is best to ensure high-quality results.

Yes, cabinet makers continue to fabricate custom kitchen and other household cabinets for new construction homes. Cabinet makers also replace and renovate existing kitchen cabinets. The cost tends to be higher than choosing manufactured cabinets from a major retailer, but you get the cabinets specially designed and made to fit the unique needs of your space.
