I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork. The work was performed over a two-day period. I am fully satisfied with the results. One thing I really apricate is the communication during the project. The "front office" would let me know by either phone or email when the project would start, and then Tony and would give me updates. All and all the whole process went smoothly. Tech Pete and Austin arrived on time with professional vehicle and equipment and were obviously skilled and knowledgeable, courteous and well, just nice. They assessed situation and determined that cleaning from inside would work well and although a significant amount of soot and debris came down from the cleaning process, there was essentially no mess to clean up other than a vacuuming around the hearth as they were very careful to keep the debris within the firebox. Provided clear and complete report of condition of chimney and the maintenance performed. All accomplished within a very reasonable time for a reasonable price. Very pleased.
