Ethan was punctual and professional. He inspected my 1926 chimney from outside for any damage or other issues and happily reported that all was in good shape. He the inspected and cleaned my 2 fireplaces noted the need for some repointing and caulking. He then proceeded to clean the fireboxes and chimneys and removed about 4-5 gallons of soot and dirt. We now feel safe after his services and recommend him for similar work.

You get what you pay for. I was looking for someone to clean rain gutters. They had accumulated a fair amount of shingle grit following two installations of solar panels. All of the other companies that contacted me were interested in installing gutter guards, which are not necessary. JHS contacted me right away and I believe I explained the situation to him: that it was a 2-story home and that I did not have a ladder. He informed me that it would not be a problem and that his pricing was uniform (very reasonable) regardless of circumstance. He came at the agreed-upon time and was very pleasant. But, his ladder was too short and did not have guards that would have prevented it from leaning against the gutters. His cleaning implement was a low-power gas-powered blower. The pitch of the roof is steep and since his ladder was too short he had to climb (and scramble) onto the roof to NOT clean the gutters - his blower was too weak to dislodge the grit, and he probably contributed to the accumulation while he struggled to navigate the steep pitches. His invoice had the incorrect customer name on it. I enjoyed meeting him and will take responsibility for my dissatisfaction. Let the buyer beware.
