"thanks to this site, I called Greater Wilm. Structure about a brick house I was buying that had cracked brick and unlevel floors. I assumed I would only (!) need to have that section of the home jacked up and the foundation repaired. Brian returned my call quickly, and met me and my realtor at the house (was a 45 min. drive for him) to give me his opinion and verbal price quote. Many contractors/carpenters would have just focused on the project and the money involved, but Brian wanted to see WHY the house had sunk. He pointed out the major structure issues with the tresses in the attic, joists, as well as other red flags, that would cause problems later. He's a master carpenter and his knowledge, experience (and sense of humor!) was refreshing and valuable. After meeting with him I decided to pull my accepted offer on the home and feel I have saved myself untold amounts of money, stress and frustration. I will definately be hiring this company in the future."

"Replaced shower and vanity in 1 bathroom, installed new cerimic tile in shower, bathroom floor. Vanity and tile covered over bathroom exesting vent. (wife takes cold shower when she ) . Shower doors had excessive spacing and had to be reinstalled, so as not to leak on floor. The existing commode when reinstalled now leaks. Lance Read was called to repair but never showed up. The existing bathroom door has scars from demon. Molding both shoe and base not installed correctl. Shower no. 2 was even worse. When they left not finishing, his worker stole items from house. I have pictures and can/will invite anyone to see. This was the worse experience I have ever had in my life."

Bathroom remodels are pricey projects, but there are some things you can do to help reduce costs. These include the following steps:

  • Purchase your own bathroom fixtures, hardware, and other materials to avoid upcharges and delivery costs

  • Remodel in the spring, which tends to be a lower-demand time of the year

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. You’ll need to add a waterproofing liner or membrane between the layers of mortar to keep moisture out. From there, you can top it with whatever type of tile you like to create a spa-like custom look. Be sure to include these considerations in your budget for the cost of a walk-in shower.

There are a few things you can do to keep your bathroom remodel as affordable as possible in your mobile home:

  • Ask your contractor to replace caulk and grout rather than retiling

  • Ask your professional to refinish your tub/shower rather than replacing

  • Upgrade your sink fixtures rather than replacing the sink

  • Upgrade cabinet hardware and ask your remodeler to refinish the cabinets

  • Avoid changing the layout of your bathroom
