"Byron was a true professional. Kind and very knowledgeable concerning my electrical issue I was experiencing. He quickly diagnosed the problem and offered a solution. He told me up front the price I was looking at paying for the repair and I was happy with that amount. Quick, friendly, and reliable. Traits not too often found in today’s society. I will definitely be recommending this company to my neighbors and if I have another issue arise, I will definitely contact Byron. Eric Shedd"

"The tech came out, checked every part inside the dryer before moving on to verifying that the electrical supply and cord were correct.  The problem turned out to be that the wall outlet had gone bad.  It was good that they did diagnose (correctly, replacing the outlet fixed the issue) the problem, but annoying that it was the _last_ thing the tech thought to test, rather than first.

"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical upgrades in Jacksonville offers immediate safety improvements and more reliable power during storms. In the long term, you’ll enjoy increased property value, lower energy consumption, and fewer emergency repairs. Modernizing your electrical system also helps protect against hurricane damage, supports efficient HVAC operation, and provides peace of mind for military families needing dependable, code-compliant systems for frequent relocations.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Jacksonville, keep all inspection documents and update your homeowner’s insurance to reflect upgrades. Test GFCI outlets monthly, check surge protectors before hurricane season, and inspect generator systems regularly. Schedule annual professional inspections for corrosion or salt damage. If you’re a military family, document improvements for housing records and coordinate future projects around PCS schedules to ensure compliance and organization.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Jacksonville, it’s wise to keep insulated screwdrivers, a moisture-resistant multimeter, and a non-contact voltage tester. Stock up on weatherproof electrical boxes, marine-grade wire nuts, surge protectors, and GFCI outlets to handle coastal humidity. Having a generator transfer switch kit, corrosion-resistant wire strippers, and grounding rods designed for sandy soil helps address local code requirements and storm readiness.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, electrical contractors cover a broad spectrum, including residential electricians for home rewiring, lighting upgrades, and panel replacements. Some specialize in smart home automation, EV charger installation, or solar panel systems tailored for coastal weather. Commercial electricians handle retail and military facility projects, while marine specialists focus on boat and dock wiring. Generator installation experts and emergency repair services are also vital, especially during hurricane season.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, early warning signs include flickering lights after heavy rain, rust on outdoor panels, or outlets that feel warm or emit a faint burning odor. If you notice frequent GFCI tripping, buzzing sounds from breaker boxes, or corrosion on exterior fixtures, these can signal moisture intrusion or salt air damage. Addressing these issues quickly can prevent major electrical failures, especially in older coastal homes.
