Small jobs welcome

"AJ HB took down 5 crepe Myrtle trees that were too near the house and sick with fungus. They ground the stumps, cut back some pampas grass and hauled away all the debris. Then I asked him to do our pine straw. He’s a hard worker, showed up when he said he would and gave us a fair price. Communication between us was very good and he’s super polite and aims to please the customer. Would definitely hire again."

I am an Electrical Engineer student looking for ways to make a little bit of extra money. I have a wide array of skills, and always looking to learn new skills as well as hone them. I enjoy helping others, and the best way I can help is to offer quality services at incredibly affordable rates. I’m not trying to get ahead or take advantage of anybody, I just need extra cash to pay the bills due to limited work hours. I do not mind working weekends, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs and schedule.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical upgrades in Wallace can impact HVAC units, well pumps, septic systems, and pool or hot tub equipment, all of which may have dedicated circuits. Security systems, irrigation controls, and internet wiring are often interconnected. Before starting a project, review how these systems are powered and labeled at your panel to prevent disruptions and ensure everything continues to function smoothly after the electrical work is complete.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Wallace are prioritizing whole-house surge protection and backup generators to handle frequent coastal storms and power interruptions. EV charging stations and smart home systems are gaining traction, especially in newer neighborhoods. Outdoor security lighting, upgraded garage outlets, and weather-resistant fixtures are also popular, reflecting the area’s active lifestyles and humid conditions. Ceiling fans remain a must-have for year-round comfort.

Helpful?

In Wallace, if you notice outdated or corroded panels, especially those with visible rust from humidity, it’s a warning sign. Aluminum wiring, knob-and-tube remnants, or mismatched outlets may indicate older or DIY work. Frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during storms, or moisture near outlets suggest underlying issues. If you see any of these, a professional inspection is recommended to ensure your home’s electrical safety.

Helpful?

In NC, tamper-resistant outlets are standard for new installations, offering added safety for families. For Wallace homes, GFCI outlets are especially important in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces due to high humidity. Adding night-light outlets, motion-activated switches, and weatherproof covers can further protect children and pets. Bedrooms benefit from AFCI protection, and ensuring proper grounding throughout the home enhances overall safety.

Helpful?

In Wallace, homes often feature crawl spaces with limited access, making it harder to run new wiring or upgrade panels. Many older houses in the area may have legacy wiring or moisture-prone areas due to the humid climate. If your home has additions, mobile home sections, or visible patchwork wiring, consider a thorough inspection before starting electrical projects to identify hidden challenges.
