"16 months ago, All About Plumbing replaced our septic pump. They responded quickly to our first distress call at seeing the alarm light and were here in a matter of hours to diagnose the problem. The new pump was ordered and installed within a few days. Last weekend, the alarm light was on again. We called first thing Monday morning. Someone was here within hours, diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, set up a date for repair within a week, and showed up exactly when they said they would to fix the problem. We're impressed with this company's responsiveness and professionalism. They know what they're doing, give an honest estimate with no further surprises, and get the job done in a timely manner. Very pleased with their service. Highly recommended."

"Dax was helpful, efficient, and friendly! The new toilet was a same-day install and the Workspace was kept super tidy. And we love the new toilet! He also cycled the sump pump while he was here. This is the 3rd time we have used this company (water heater and sump pump previously) and will continue to do so!"

"A first-rate job though I was surprised at the overall cost. Our water heater had gone out the day before and they installed a replacement the next day. Thumbs up!"

"I met Richard Allbritton owner of Holy Water Plumbing almost a year ago. He installed a tankless system and installed an all house purification system at that time. Both of which was the best changes I could have made. My house regulator failed two days ago and I called Richard this past Monday (memorial day) even though it’s almost a year since I’ve seen him and even though he was away on vacation he still answered my phone call. He told me he was starting a large job the next day but he would find the time to come by. He came over and even though it was at the end of the day, when he was obviously tired and the replacement part that that he picked up that morning, new in the box when he installed it was defective he still took the time to return it to his supplier some twenty minutes away and returned with the replacement part and installed it just to keep me from being inconvenienced. He is honest, diligent and talented. There’s no one like him, I highly recommend him. G. Schmidt."

"Grant was professional and thorough in his estimate and able to give me an exact price on the spot. His estimate was full service, to include delivery, full installation and taking away my old water heater. He was also able to give me a veteran's discount, which was appreciated."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

If you have a self-cleaning washing machine but you’re still seeing lint, your water pump filter might be clogged. To clean it, you should unscrew the drain hose, then remove the water pump filter. From there, you can inspect it and clean it with warm water before replacing it. Check to be sure your washing machine is functioning by running a short cycle.

A sump pump can be plugged into a regular, 110-volt outlet with three-prong openings, but it must have GFCI protections per the NEC, meaning you’ll need a GFCI outlet and circuit. Sump pumps require two outlet openings, one for the plug to the motor and one for the float switch.

Most sump pumps come with power cords that can be plugged into an outlet, but there are options that can be hardwired into a home’s electrical system. Either way, it’s smart to have a backup power supply in case the electricity goes out during a storm. That way, the sump pump can keep running and removing water from the sump pit.

If your water pump fails, the first step is to turn off the power to the pump to prevent any further damage. Check for common issues such as clogs, electrical problems, or mechanical failures. If you cannot identify the problem, contact a professional who specializes in pump repairs. Prompt action can help minimize damage and repair costs.
