"JC’s meticulous attention to detail is second only to his honesty, integrity, and work ethic. I wouldn’t hire anyone else. He’s the guy you call to get the job done right the first or redo a job that was done by a low cost handyman or big-box store installer. I won’t make that mistake twice! Check out the vinyl luxury plank he installed in my mud room. He shaved the door jambs, cut every piece to perfection—even around the dryer vent and outlet, and silicone caulked all the molding to make it waterproof. Thanks JC!"

"Rafa Albán did a great, clean, and professional job. I had several electrical issues, and everything was fixed correctly. He also installed a large and delicate light fixture with great care. I’m very happy with the work and would definitely recommend him!"

"Hornets did maintenance l, inspection and cleaning on my gas furnace for very reasonable price. Then based on inspection of both the furnace and AC they were able to work with my home warranty to replace the AC and evaporator unit. The job was completed in a very timely manner and install went great. Very impressed with this company. I highly recommend Hornets for your HVAC maintenance and repairs."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Keeping birds away from a porch can involve a combination of strategies. Start with cleaning your porch. Remove food, debris, and plants that may be attracting feathered friends. Afterward, install physical deterrents like netting or spikes. Next, top off your porch with a decoy or two—and owl or hawk works. When wondering how to keep birds off the porch, it is always best to use humane efforts that won't harm winged creatures or the environment.

Yellow jackets are a type of wasp in the Vespula and Dolichovespula genera. Hornets are another type of wasp in the Vespa genus. Hornets and yellow jackets are closely related and are both known for being large and aggressive. They are often confused with one another, too. For example, the bald-faced hornet is actually a yellow jacket, and the European hornet, a true hornet, looks much like a yellow jacket.

One of the best ways to get rid of mice is to prevent them from showing up in the first place with smart tricks—like placing a deterrent around the foundation of your house. Try building a barrier of rocks to make it harder for such rodents to get cozy in the small corners and crawl spaces that might give them access to the interior.

While there are many types of wood-eating pests, the most common one in the United States is termites. They are found in every state and are typically worse in warm and humid climates. They cause billions of dollars in damage every year, which is why it’s vital that homeowners address infestations as soon as possible.

Some pest control treatments, such as spraying insecticides or bug bombs, can cause severe health problems for your household members if you are improperly exposed to them. That's why putting away pet toys, dishes, bedding, children's toys and items is essential. Pest technicians are trained to reduce risk, but it's best to take caution by avoiding the risk of items being accidentally sprayed. Discuss any concerns you may have with your pest control specialist.
