"Work turned out amazing! We became so close after this project, I’ll always call him for more paint projects, and recommend to my family and friends! He was open to my ideas, very patient and friendly. Also very transparent in his invoice and offers great value!"

"I was very pleased with the work that South End Painting did. Out of the 3 painting companies that I received estimates from, their estimate was the most reasonable and they were able to get the job done right away. This was a FULL 3-day job and on day one, a crew of 2 showed up and I was promised a larger crew. I notified my sales guy and to my delight, a crew of 5 showed up on the next 2 days. They were very hard working guys and they did a great job! Their wall patching was superb! One regret that I have is not removing the ceiling registers before they came, because they paint around them. I bought new vents (you don't realize how bad your vents look until that ceiling gets a fresh coat of paint!) but many of the new vents don't match up perfectly and fixing all this will require a lot of time and effort, so I'll probably just take the new vents back to the store. So if you are having ceilings painted, take out your registers before the painters come! But I would not hesitate to hire this company again - they did a great job and I am enjoying my freshly painted house!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

You can weather a new wood fence by applying vinegar with steel wool as a way to fade some of the coloring. You may also find it easier to stain your entire fence a new color instead of trying to get newer fence boards to match an older one.

Paint your fence, install customized fence slats, or attach a bamboo screen for a more appealing yard aesthetic. Paint can give your yard a unique and fun look, and adding fence slats gives you a classic fence appearance. Bamboo screens are probably the most unique option that can add a fun vibe to your space.

Yes, you can paint galvanized chain link, but the process is a bit more difficult as it requires additional prep work. Before applying the primer and paint, you must remove the original coating from the metal, which can be time-consuming. If the original coating is not removed, the primer and paint will not bond properly and cause peeling over time.

Yes, you can paint a chain-link fence, but you don’t want to use spray paint. With the spray method, you’ll be losing a majority of your product to the air, given the size of the gaps in chain-link fences. Instead, use a paintbrush for your fence posts and a paint roller for the wire.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.
