"Several years ago The Garage Authority did a polyurea floor in my garage and then returned and did my front porch. I have been so happy with the beauty, durability, and ease of cleaning that I asked about the possibility of doing my bathroom floor during a recent bath remodel. Mike, the installer, looked at my floor and said most definitely! The process took three days and at the conclusion, I couldn't be happier. My remodeling contractor, who had never seen this floor application done anywhere but a garage, was amazed. There is no grout, water resistant, a wide selection of colors, and very easy to maintain. Thank you to Mike, business owner Nancy, and all the crew at The Garage Authority. Very happy customer!"

Southeast Foundation Repair is a family-owned business specializing in foundation repair, basement waterproofing & finishing, crawl space encapsulation and foundation wall crack sealing. We service Southeastern North Carolina, including Fayetteville, Wilmington, and surrounding areas such as Boiling Spring Lakes, Burgaw, Carolina Beach, Clinton, Elizabethville, Hope Mills, Laurinburg, Lumberton, Murraysville, Myrtle Grove, North Myrtle, Oak Island, Raeford, Red Springs, Roseboro, Sneads Ferry, St. James, Sunset Beach, Wallace, Whiteville, Wrightsboro, and Wrightsville Beach.

"Our crawlspace was encapsulated in June and almost immediately had issues with leaking. They had to come back twice to fix the leaks in the hatch and fix the substandard job that was done in terminating the condensate pump drain. In addition, we have had more leaks in the past several months that were addressed by them resealing. The most recent time they came out to fix a leak, the service technician did not actually fix anything, but rather told us we needed a sump pump and left it at that. About three months in, a horrid smell developed in the house from the crawlspace. At first, the team lead came in and said it was the worst crawlspace he'd ever smelled and suggested it was due to rats. That same day we had Terminex come out, and they ended up getting on the phone with the service manager to tell her there was no possible way it was rats. Her solution? Try a dehumidifier. Unsurprisingly, in the winter, when stack effect is most prominent, it did not address the issue (the provided dehumidifier with charcoal filter does not run when humidity levels are low)./'][ From doing my own research, it seems that this is soil gasses which can be fixed with a mitigation system/ventilation system and a sump pump. We would be happy to work with the service manager to move forward with some of the options, but she has proven to be unwilling to work with us because "we have already given them a free dehumidifier," as relayed by the service technician when he was on site. Other issues have included: rim joists unsealed and uninsulated, mold being "treated" but left hanging on the joists and not cleaned off, and electrical and plumbing points left unsealed which contributed to the smell during the cold weather due to stack effect. Over the last few months when contacting the service manager, she has grown increasingly shorter in her temperament with us or ignores communication altogether. This company does not care that we are still experiencing problems with the encapsulation system. At this point, we are completely at a loss for how to continue as this has dragged on for months. Based on responses we have received from them and the length of time it takes for them to come onsite we have lost confidence in their ability to resolve our issues. To anyone considering using them for an encapsulation, we would recommend using a different company."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

The method involves lifting settled concrete using pressurized cement slurry via drilled holes. This solves uneven surfaces and prevents further settling.

Mudjacking should last for five to 10 years, so it’s considered a temporary solution to sinking concrete. However, there are some cases where mudjacking fails before this time period, like if you have loose soil below the concrete or a karst landscape is to blame for the sinking concrete. Some mudjacking projects can last for well beyond a decade, depending on the underlying issue.

Boring (also known as directional boring) is one alternative to trenching when installing underground utilities. The main difference between directional boring versus trenching is that boring doesn’t require digging or disturbing the surface. Instead, it involves creating holes or tunnels in the ground and then running utility lines through the openings. Boring is less invasive than trenching, but it’s also more expensive.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
