"Carolina Pro Clean was very responsive to our inquiry. Provided an estimate based on our needs. They set up an appointment and on the scheduled day they contacted us to see it they could come early. The service man was very efficient and went about his work. We are very pleased with how our chairs and carpets look. Would definitely use them again."

"Remember this name....."A CLEAN SWEEP". These two ladies did an incredible job at cleaning up my ground floor bar, that hasn't been used for quite some time. Floor to ceiling, and then some. They really did a super quality job, in a timely manner, for a reasonable price. 252-619-3079. A+++"

"They have been nothing but professional. They will go to extremes. There was a hurricane and I needed someone to check on my property when we weren't there. Within an hour they were at our residence. They return phone calls right away. They are phenomenal. We had an issue with our carpet in our pool house and they were there the very next day. I can't say enough good things about them."

"They had such a busy schedule and dropped everything to complete the installation of the new carpets in my home before I would move in. There was damage of the carpets all the way to the wood from the previous owners pets and they washed the wood several times until all remnants of the damage was gone. Then installed the new carpets amazingly! They even washed the lower level carpets deeply and you cannot tell what so ever there was ever an animal here now. My home just smells fresh. Afterwards they quickly disposed of what was pulled out too in such a diligent way, I am beyond happy with their services and not to mention their customer service as well, I would highly recommend their company for your next home project."

"The crew, Andy, Austin, and Miguel are some of the hardest working men I ve ever seen. In the heat and humidity, rain, and wind, they worked. The job took longer than initially expected, but in the end, every detail was made perfect and they even hung my porch swing back up! I m keeping the phone number for MDS Household close by."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

A transition piece between carpet stairs and wood flooring isn't always necessary. A transition piece separates two types of flooring in between rooms and areas, like carpet and vinyl. Because the carpet on the stairs tucks into the seam, you can’t see the fringes, and there is no need to hide anything. However, you can use a stair cap if your stairs have a nose.
