"Bautista Bros Builder were very professional and responsive. They gave me a very fair price on my quote. They showed up on time and performed the work very professionally. They took great care not to damage anything else while working. I was very satisfied with the work performed and would definitely recommend them to anyone seeking home repairs."

"The crew arrived in the middle of the window of time. They demolished the rotted stairway, and built a new one that was far better than the stairway the builder had made, and were done at 4:30 that afternoon. All scrap was removed and everything went well. Great job"

Small jobs welcome

"The appointment was scheduled within an hour of my submitting an online form on the Mr. Handyman website.  My technician, Matt, arrived at the scheduled time and quickly assessed the number of boards that needed to be replaced.  After going to Lowe's to pick up the materials Matt promptly completed the job.  The job took about an hour and a half and the work was top notch.
Very pleased with the service and the pricing was quite reasonable in my view.  Will most certainly use the company again, and next time with a longer list of projects."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Fantastic job, reasonable prices, professional crew. One of the best parts of Norm's crew is that they provide virtually all the services needed with one contact. During the renovation there were several times where something needed to be repainted after a repair. Norm is able to bring in his crew on short notice to do these small jobs, saving me the work of having to contact and schedule someone else. They did such a great job that we used them again on my fiance's house to replace the roof and to repair siding damage. We highly recommend them!"

He built a custom mantle and surround exactly to our specifications?actually, better than we had imagined! He also handled our kitchen and bath cabinet installation with incredible precision. Professional, artistic, and detail-oriented. We couldn't be happier with the results, and we highly recommend his work."

"I hired Jorge and his team to tear down an existing old deck and build a screened in porch. They did this job beautifully in a matter of a couple months. The woodwork, service, attention to detail was unmatched! Will hire them again for more projects in my home!!!"

"This deck provided some unusual problems as there had been a deck in the space before. There was a discovery of rot on the wall in back of the back plate. There were also five footers for the previous deck and the new deck required only two. The finished deck is safe, clean, well constructed, well designed and a joy for the homeowners . Zake (the builder) and his dad were wonderful. He came quickly, gave me a fair estimate and completed the job in 3 days. Amazing!!!"

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

Barns and barndominiums are most commonly painted red, like barns depicted in movies and paintings. The practice of painting barns red dates back to America’s colonial days, when new farmers would borrow the European practice of mixing linseed oil with ferrous oxide to coat the barns in order to protect them from the elements, leaving the structures with a red color.

Common pitfalls include underestimating the cost of site preparation, overlooking permit and utility fees, and not setting aside funds for unexpected changes. Change orders during construction can disrupt your budget. It’s best to plan a detailed budget, obtain multiple quotes, and include a 10% to 15% contingency fund for unexpected expenses.

Whether pole barn posts should be set in concrete depends on the soil surrounding your home. If your soil is compact and digging conditions are agreeable, then setting pole barn posts in concrete is an ideal option.

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.
