"I hired Refloor to come back and do my basement too. The installation was delayed due to stock shortage but the floors are in and they are beautiful. I hired my own painter to stain the moldings to match the floors. The floors look so much like real wood. Great job!"

"I highly recommend Fidel and his crew with FloorsMX for your painting needs! He was knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and prompt from start to finish. He provided excellent service at an affordable price, and the entire job was completed in just one day. I was also impressed that once the work was finished, he cleaned up after himself and left the property looking great. It’s not often you find someone who provides quality work, great customer service, and affordability all in one. I would definitely use Fidel annd his team again!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In Burlington, flooring contractors often select moisture-resistant materials and floating floor systems to allow for easy expansion into future additions like sunrooms or finished basements. They may reinforce subfloors in anticipation of heavier appliances or built-ins. Neutral flooring colors and consistent plank widths help ensure seamless transitions, while pre-planning for electrical outlets or smart home features helps future-proof your flooring installation.

Helpful?

In Burlington, if you notice hardwood planks cupping or crowning, persistent squeaks near doorways, or visible gaps where vinyl meets baseboards, these often point to humidity issues or subpar installation. Cracked tiles in kitchens or baths may reflect shifting from the region’s clay-rich soil. Stains from red clay or musty odors in carpeted areas are also strong indicators that flooring replacement or repair is needed.

Helpful?

Flooring projects in Burlington often become complex due to historic mill homes with uneven subfloors, high moisture in crawl spaces, and the need to work around older HVAC ductwork. Split-level homes require careful transition planning, while the area’s expansive clay soil can cause subtle foundation shifts. Properties near Elon or downtown may also need special attention for lead paint or asbestos in older flooring materials.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Burlington should first address any basement or crawl space moisture to prevent future flooring damage. Upgrading entryway flooring helps manage red clay tracked inside. For kitchens and bathrooms, focus on water-resistant flooring to handle humidity. Bedrooms benefit from durable, easy-to-clean surfaces. In older Burlington homes, adding non-slip treads to stairs and checking for hidden floor damage under carpets are also smart first steps.

Helpful?

Flooring contractors in Burlington begin by assessing subfloor stability, especially in older or historic homes prone to settling from local soil conditions. Next, they address moisture control with vapor barriers or dehumidifiers. Safety is prioritized by testing for hazardous materials and ensuring proper ventilation. Finally, they select flooring materials suited for Burlington’s climate and confirm all work meets current building codes and best practices for flooring installation.
