"The tile and tub were reglazed in a satin white that makes the tub and ceramic tile look like new. The two workers were professional and courteous and did an excellent job. They were very careful to tape and protect our newly painted walls and cover the wood floors as well as venting the fumes out the window. The owner, Will, is very responsive and professional. We will use them again!"

"We are very pleased with the job that Talbert's Tile Installation did for us in our kitchen. We have already recommended them to a couple of our friends. If we have any other work that Tallbert's can do, we will use them. Talbert's not only did an excellent job for us, but helped us make the correct decisions for our particular goal that we had in mind for our kitchen. One thing that my husband and I particularly noticed right away is the fact that Talbert's takes pride in the work that is done and also takes pride in being on the job when promised. This is one thing that stands out to the customer today!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.

Popular options include ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass tiles, chosen based on the area (bathroom, kitchen) and desired aesthetic.

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.

You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold. While it sounds simple enough, proper planning and execution are crucial, so carefully review the steps in this guide or hire a pro tile installer to complete this project.
