"Ty was the first to respond to my emails through Angie's List for my plumbing project. I had only two other people even reply out of about 12 emails I sent. I knew when he came to my house to look at the job that he was thorough and very knowledgable. I had an instant trust in his character and workmanship, but I obtained other bids because I was encouraged to do so. The other men didn't compare to Ty in any way. I am so thankful I was fortunate enough to have Ty do the bathroom conversion because I know the job was done right and I was not over charged.

"Very well. Shawn was the technician who worked with me. He made the repair quickly and professionally. He was prompt and courteous. He also gave me good advice on how to deal with a garbage disposal so it wouldn't happen again!"

"A house we'd recently bought had a serious sediment problem within the water lines.  I bought a self flushing whole house sediment filter and called All Ways Plumbing to install it.  They arrived on schedule and quickly began work.  They soon discovered (as I had suspected) that the well-water pressure tank was not holding pressure.  They installed a new one which I bought at the local building supply store.  While they were here, I also had them repair a toilet supply hose that was not working correctly.

"Excellent - a polite and friendly worker, Gary is knowledgeable, thorough, prompt, efficient and pleasant to work with! He installed a new screen door - on a day I could not be home. It is a super job and allows me to have a breeze through the house! He is Neat and tidy with his work. He assisted me with obtaining a phone number and model number for questions to Manufacture Co.. (I could not read at bottom of powered chair, so he printed it all out for me) Great guy- be sure to keep his number handy- ?"

"Extremely well. Agent visited my premises, then apartment building, then my daughter’s house, the destination of some furniture. Removed larger used articles for disposal at dump. Three men moved upright piano up 28 steps. Throughout 10-hour move, the crew remained upbeat and energetic."

"They were very efficient and came when they said. Did a great job replacing our downspouts and gutters. They also installed a French drain and redirected water from house. Also reasonable cost. I would highly recommend and so pleased we found them."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

It’s one thing that helps, alongside vinegar and baking soda. Ice acts as an exfoliant, helping to lift off any bits of food stuck on the disposal blades.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.
