"Contract signed 11/26/2024 and not completed until 5/20/2025. Constant project delays, poor communications and type/size of 8x8x10 cedar post incorrectly ordered twice. Before the second post was ordered, I pointed out in person to Bo that the post needed to be rough sawn and that it needed to be a true 8 x8 . When the second post was brought to the house, it still measured 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 (it needed to be a true 8 x8 to fit within the existing railing and top moulding it was connected to). This was relayed to Rosa, who then spoke to me by phone and told me they would not be able to complete my project and that they would not order another post as they had already paid for two. I expressed my frustration to Rosa, who placed the order. She told me that it wasn t her fault and made no attempt to apologize for the error. I subsequently called GBS Building Supply in Hendersonville and was told that they could order a rough sawn, true 8 x8 x10 cedar post for me. I relayed this to Rosa, who said they would complete my project if I could get this post, but that they would only pay for half of the cost. I ordered the post, paid for it myself ($514.96) and picked it up from GBS. On the same day that the crew brought the second incorrect size cedar post, they brought several remaining 2x8 cedar top rail pieces. Salvador, the crew chief, pointed out two of these boards to me that had significant damage to them (see attached photos). I agreed and asked him to return them for undamaged boards. I received a communication from Rosa that these damaged boards were taken back to 84 lumber and shown to Arden s contact person - who stated that they did not see any damages to them and would not exchange them or accept returns. Rosa - with how much the material was we will not be able to cover it. Being so ready to get this project completed, I spoke with Bo and ask that these boards be sanded to attempt to to reduce the risks is splinters if someone grabbed them in the wrong spot. Project was finally completed, but clearly not to my satisfaction. Salvador, the crew chief, did qualify work. But he had no control over scheduling issues and materials issues. I have never had these types of issues with any other Angie recommended pro, and do not want anyone else to experience what I have just endured. I have been patient in working with them, but don t believe I should be penalized for either ordering errors or poor quality materials."
