"Excellent start to finish. I requested moving services last minute (evening the night before). They assembled a team and were there for the project at 8:00 the next morning (15 minutes early actually). The objects were extremely heavy, bulky, and freshly painted so needed extra care in handling. The job got done in good time and with no damage to the objects or my home. It could not have gone any better. I will be using them again."

"Phil Stoltz and his crew were absolutely fantastic! The whole team was extremely professional and hard-working. They were very friendly, prompt, and they did an excellent job of hauling and removing trash and worn-.out furniture from my house just before my move to another location. They went way beyond the call of duty! I can recommend this company without any reservations to anyone needing household junk removal. They also do moving for anyone needing that service."

"This is the 2nd year I have hired them to clean up the mountain slope behind my vacation rental. They did a phenomenal job last year clearing overgrowth and raking out neglected Love Grass. I have them coming back later month to tame Mother Nature and make the slope beautiful again. They are always friendly, prompt, hard working, clean up all the debris and haul it away. If you need anything done, please contact this Company."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.
