"Jerry was quick with the installation, very professional & a very neat worker! No mess left for me to clean up!! He also showed us new fixtures to replace our pot lights in the kitchen ceilings that put out so much more light, and no heat!! I can't believe how much brighter the room is now!! Thanks Jerry C.!!!"

"I called Ricky on a Friday afternoon, and he managed to work me in very quickly. He figured out my wiring issue, labeled the wires so we wouldn’t have trouble in the future, and got our fan and light working. He was pleasant and professional. He had the work completed within about 2 hours of my call to him. It could not have been smoother! I will definitely call him in the future."

"CMC was very communicative up front and sent Martin out within days of my request. Martin installed an electrical outlet and light with a switch in my hall closet. He also quoted prices for additional projects in the house to do at a later time. Martin was friendly and clearly explained everything he needed to do. I’ll ask for him again next time!"

"One, which merely substituted a ceiling fixture with the fan, was relatively simple. The 2nd involved cutting through the ceiling for an electrical hook-up which became complicated resulting in six holes in my ceiling."

"

My first contact with Alpine was with the owner, David Breed.  He guided me through a decision-making process in which I was initially planning to have additional coolant added to my systems in preparation for summer temperatures.  Upon realizing that my previous HVAC services had simply been applying 'bandaids' over the past 8 years, David offered a detailed overview of my options.

David scheduled Larry to come to my home and perform a review of my current systems.  Larry's punctuality, communication and professionalism was evident immediately.  After his review, he spent the necessary time to discuss my options.  At no time did I feel pressured into any particular price point.  Larry asked specific questions to assist me in making the best choices for me and my home.  I chose Amana-brand units - one 3.5-ton and one split-system 4-ton.

Laura King, the Install Coordinator, contacted me within hours of Larry's review, to schedule installation.  She was pleasant, timey and professional.

The crew arrived promptly as scheduled.  Matt, Eddy and Jeremy were top notch!!  They were professional, polite and incredibly mindful of minimizing disruption and mess.  They worked steadily for 3 days in heat, humidity and dirty conditions (attic and crawl space), yet they always had a smile.  They took time to explain the new systems and thermostats.

This company exudes customer service.  Yes, it was costly, but also an investment.  Alpine sets the example others should follow from start to finish!!  I could not be more pleased with the entire experience.

"Ralph was responsive before the installation, was punctual, and worked efficiently.  He made sure we were satisfied with the installation before he left.  We will definitely contact him for any future electrical projects. Very satisfied with this service.

Chandelier Installation FAQs, answered by experts

When replacing a chandelier, there is little need to do any significant re-modifications. The cost will vary depending on whether the existing wiring is functional. Expect to pay around $115 to $280. If you install a chandelier in a position without any wiring, installation costs range from $145 to $400. Certain factors can also increase the price, such as upgrading junction boxes or installing heavy fixtures.

Updater: Alannah Koene

The average cost to install a light fixture is $600, with a typical range of $200 to $1,100. The total cost depends on several factors, including the type and number of fixtures, wiring requirements, and your location. Additional costs may apply for removing old fixtures or for any necessary electrical or drywall work. Replacing an existing light fixture is generally less expensive than installing a new one because the wiring is already in place.

There are few disadvantages to LED bulbs when compared to incandescent, but that isn’t to say they are perfect. Cooler LED lights emit an enormous amount of blue light. This can affect people with certain conditions and has been known to mess with your circadian rhythm. LEDs can also overheat, are prone to flicker, and may not be consistent in color across all bulbs in a pack

Generally speaking, you can install one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet. A 12x12 room is 144 square feet, which would need 24 to 36 recessed lights. The wattage you use for the light bulbs and the height of your ceilings can also impact the number of recessed lights you need for a 12x12 room.

Under-cabinet lights are typically affixed to mounts that are drilled into the cabinet using screws. Cable staples are used to secure the cords in place. Alternatively, tape lights can be attached directly to the underside of the cabinet using adhesive. These installation methods provide secure and versatile—and potentially removable—options for illuminating your kitchen space.
